On March 20, at the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc had a working session with a high-level business delegation of the US-ASEAN Business Council 2025 led by Mr. Michael Vu Nguyen, General Director of Boeing Vietnam.

Congratulating Vietnam on its recent economic growth successes, Boeing Vietnam General Director Michael Vu Nguyen said that as Vietnam enters a new stage of development, the business community is looking forward to the positive impacts of this change with opportunities for deep and broad cooperation in all fields.

2025 marks the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations, and the two sides can look back at significant progress in diplomatic, economic, educational relations, etc. In particular, the US business community plays an important role in strengthening the relationship between the two countries. Their contributions are a living testament to the growing relationship between the two sides.

Mr. Michael Vu Nguyen said that the US-ASEAN Business Council is a leading enterprise in important fields such as healthcare, defense, security, consumer products, information technology, artificial intelligence, etc. Therefore, he expressed his hope that at the meeting, the two sides will discuss and find ways to support each other when Vietnam enters a new phase, creating a foundation to open up many directions and cooperation between the United States and Vietnam in the field of education and training.

After 30 years of cooperation and development in Vietnam, Boeing is now present in the fields of commercial aviation, defense and security, supply chain, technical training, university cooperation and community activities. The group has met and worked with leading technical universities in Vietnam to discuss opportunities to develop research and production areas, sustainable development of STEM education, as well as support for internships, scholarships and other areas.

Founded in 1916, AACSB is the oldest and most prestigious accreditation organization for business schools. With its strengths, AACSB hopes that, through accompanying educational initiatives, the organization will aim to expand access to knowledge for all students, while contributing to promoting sustainable economic development. In addition, by cooperating with this organization, higher education institutions in Vietnam also have the opportunity to access, exchange, and learn from the experiences of the organization's network of member schools to develop and further improve the quality of training and teaching.

The representative of Abbott Corporation, in sharing about the national nutrition strategy, emphasized the importance of proper nutrition in enhancing school health; at the same time, he said that nutritional products based on scientific evidence will help reduce malnutrition and stunting in children, improve the average height of adolescents, help improve health, physical development and prevent diseases in students.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc emphasized: In the 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United States, the two sides have cooperated in many different fields, including education and training. Many US enterprises have cooperated with the Ministry of Education and Training, universities and general education institutions of Vietnam. Vietnam and the United States have signed a memorandum of educational cooperation between the two countries, which is the basis for implementing other cooperation.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc, in the vision and strategy for education and training development, Vietnam hopes to become a leading educationally developed country in Asia by 2030 and among the leading educationally developed countries in the world by 2045.

With more than 2 million students and about 23 million pupils out of the total population of Vietnam, this is an abundant source of human resources for the development of the country, especially in the fields of science, technology, artificial intelligence, medicine, health, etc. Along with that, Vietnam also equips pupils and students with the necessary skills to become global citizens, keeping up with the development trends of the world. Making English the second language in schools demonstrates Vietnam's determination and strong development of education and training.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc expressed his gratitude to US businesses for their support in terms of scholarships and job opportunities for Vietnamese students. In response to Vietnam's demand for education and training development, the Deputy Minister hoped that US businesses would continue to promote cooperation and support Vietnamese schools.
