The province has trained and deployed for more than 150 small and medium enterprises on policies to support the purchase and rental of digital transformation solutions according to Decree No. 80/2021/ND-CP of the Government; regularly informs and disseminates to enterprises, cooperatives, and business establishments about domestic and foreign programs, conferences, and seminars related to the field of e-commerce so that units can proactively grasp and update information to orient product development according to the market.
Implementing the Program to promote and support people, businesses, business households, and OCOP entities to have a reliable and safe online presence with digital services using the national domain name ".vn", up to now, Dong Thap has developed 2,451 domain names, bringing the total to 4,311 national domain names. The province organized training for more than 1,900 members of the Community Digital Technology Team of 12 districts and cities on propaganda skills on policies and laws on digital transformation. In addition, the province also guided people and businesses to install and use applications: E-DongThap, Google Gemini, VNPT Money, Viettel Money, BIDV Smart banking, online public services; organized 160 training courses, disseminated knowledge, improved digital skills and information access capacity for 4,800 cooperative members, club members, OCOP entities, people, etc.
Dong Thap province's key industries have many OCOP products with 3-4 star standards, including: Rice has 66 rice products and rice-based products recognized as meeting OCOP standards from 3-4 stars; Mango has 13 products recognized as meeting OCOP standards from 3-5 stars, exported to demanding markets such as the US, Japan, the European Union, and South Korea; Ornamental flowers have 7 tourist experience spots recognized as meeting OCOP standards from 3-4 stars; Pangasius has 6 products recognized as meeting OCOP standards from 3-4 stars; Lotus has 60 processed products, value-added products from lotus recognized as meeting OCOP standards from 3-5 stars.
Up to now, Dong Thap has successfully established 1 geographical indication, 38 certified brands, 4 collective brands serving production and business, promoting local image for OCOP products such as: Building a process of applying technical advances in cultivation and diversifying processed products of Japanese purple sweet potatoes in Chau Thanh district; building a process of producing shallots with VietGAP certification in Tam Nong district; developing the certified brand "Kho Phu Tho"; "Dong Thap" geographical indication for lotus products; "Managing and developing Cao Lanh geographical indication for mango products of Dong Thap province associated with quality control, growing area codes for export"...
The first 5-star OCOP product of Dong Thap province is the dried lotus seeds of Mr. Huynh Van Hiep, Director of Nam Huy Dong Thap One Member Limited Liability Company in Hoa Tan Commune, Chau Thanh District. Currently, Mr. Hiep's 5-star OCOP dried lotus seeds are put on e-commerce platforms and are strongly consumed in the provinces of the Mekong Delta, Ho Chi Minh City, the Central provinces, the capital Hanoi and present in Southeast Asian and European countries...
Dong Thap has 7 districts with traditional occupations and craft villages recognized with products participating in the OCOP evaluation and ranking reaching 3-4 stars. Typically, Lai Vung district has products from the traditional craft of Lai Vung spring rolls; Sa Dec city has a traditional craft village producing flour, a traditional craft village producing ornamental flowers; Hong Ngu district has products from the weaving village of Long Khanh A commune; Thanh Binh district has products from the basket weaving village; Cao Lanh district has products from the craft village weaving handicrafts from water hyacinth... OCOP products are all introduced on e-commerce platforms for consumption.
Dong Thap sets a goal for 2025, developing OCOP products to unleash the potential and advantages of rural areas, contributing to increasing people's income; restructuring the agricultural sector in association with developing small-scale industries, occupations, services and rural tourism; promoting sustainable rural economic development, on the basis of enhancing the application of digital transformation and circular economy, contributing to building new rural areas in depth, effectively and sustainably. In 2025, the province strives to have 60 more OCOP products, including 40 3-star products and 20 4-star products.
