Opening of the 2025 Ban Flower Festival and the 8th Dien Bien Province Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival

Dien Bien TV - On the evening of March 14, at the Provincial Stadium, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 Ban Flower Festival and the 8th Dien Bien Province Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival. Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Thanh Long, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; international delegates; leaders of many ministries, departments, central agencies and a number of provinces and cities across the country.

Attending the ceremony on behalf of Dien Bien province were comrades: Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mua A Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Lo Van Phuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; former leaders of the province through the periods; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, members of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and mass organizations of the province; leaders of localities in the province, along with a large number of people and tourists.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The Hoa Ban Festival is an opportunity for Dien Bien province to promote the image, unique traditional cultural beauty of the ethnic community, the natural beauty, culture, tourism potential of Dien Bien in particular, the Northwest region in general to the people of the whole country and international friends. This is also an opportunity for the province to promote its tourism potential and strengths; contributing to creating more opportunities for cooperation and linkage to promote tourism between Dien Bien province and localities nationwide.

Also at the opening ceremony, Comrade Le Thanh Long, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister affirmed: The Ban Flower Festival together with the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of Dien Bien Province's Ethnic Groups has become an important event to strengthen the spirit of solidarity, honor the traditional cultural values typical of the ethnic communities in the Northern mountainous region in the unified and diverse culture of the Vietnamese ethnic community. The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and dedication of the Party Committees, authorities at all levels and the People of Dien Bien Province with the important results achieved in the work of preserving, maintaining and promoting the outstanding cultural values of the province.

In order to exploit more effectively the traditional cultural values and cultural, historical and natural heritages, including the Ban Flower Festival, contributing to making tourism a key economic sector of Dien Bien province in particular and the Northwest region in general, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested: Dien Bien develop tourism in a professional, quality and effective direction; gradually shift from breadth to depth on the basis of taking advantage of and maximizing the potential and strengths associated with protecting the environment, natural resources, culture, traditions and beauty of the land and people of Dien Bien in particular and the Northwest in general. At the same time, strengthen cultural exchanges between the ethnic communities of Dien Bien province and localities in the region as well as across the country. Dien Bien also needs to protect and develop Ban flowers associated with forest protection, preserving natural landscapes, ensuring a clean ecological environment to serve sustainable tourism development...

Special performance in the art program "Dien Bien - Bright colors" at the opening ceremony.

Right after the opening ceremony, delegates, people and visitors enjoyed the emotional and colorful space of the art program with the theme “Dien Bien – Bright colors”. The program consisted of 3 chapters: “Touching the memory”; “Sensing the color and fragrance” and “Unleashing the essence – shining brightly”.

The main stage with its grand, colorful design, along with the special performances that were elaborately staged and the 3D, 4D image clips and graphics displayed vividly on the LED screen system, was the highlight of the opening ceremony of this year's Ban Flower Festival. Throughout the art program, the prominent image of the Ban flower - a flower symbolizing the vitality, unique traditional culture and strong spirit of the heroic land of Dien Bien... depicted an emotional journey from the origin of life to the brilliant development of the culture, land and people of Dien Bien.

The opening ceremony stage was designed to be grand.

The art program is a colorful picture of history, majestic nature and unique cultural identity of the 19 ethnic groups in the province; showing a Dien Bien determined to innovate to keep pace with the strong development in the era of national development. The program left many good impressions on the large number of people and tourists who came to watch the ceremony.

Immediately after the art program, the delegates, singers, actors, people and tourists held hands in a circle of solidarity and enjoyed the low-altitude fireworks display marking the success of the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 Ban Flower Festival and the 8th Dien Bien Province Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival.
