Of the more than 100 private high schools in Hanoi, only 85 schools were assigned grade 10 quotas for the 2024-2025 school year. Accordingly, the total grade 10 quota for this group of schools is 29,636 students. The schools were not assigned quotas because they did not meet the quality requirements as prescribed.
Previously, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training had inspection teams to review private schools to assess the current status of facilities, teaching equipment and teaching staff.
Private schools have also been informed that if they do not provide sufficient teaching conditions according to regulations, they will not be assigned enrollment quotas.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Hanoi will have about 133,000 9th grade junior high school students recognized as graduating from junior high school in 30 districts, towns and cities.
Nearly 60% of them can enter grade 10 of public high schools. Based on the recently assigned quota, the number of students studying in private schools is about 22% compared to the total number of students graduating from junior high schools. The rest study continuing education, vocational schools...
To facilitate students and schools, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training allows private schools to enroll students (based on academic records) immediately after the 2023-2024 school year ends.
