On the afternoon of March 12, a source from Tuoi Tre Online reported that the Dak Nong Provincial Inspectorate had just announced a decision to conduct a comprehensive inspection of a social housing project (Nghia Tan Ward, Gia Nghia City) but it was sold to many officials and relatives of officials.

Comprehensive inspection of social housing projects in Dak Nong

Dak Nong Provincial Inspectorate has requested SEG Viet Land One Member Co., Ltd. (investor) to report the entire implementation process and provide relevant records and documents to serve the inspection work.

The above project was approved in 2017 on an area of 1.79 hectares, with a total investment of 162 billion VND, to build 108 social houses, 15 commercial houses and 1 community house. Implementation period is from the third quarter of 2017 to the first quarter of 2019.

However, the project has stalled many times, forcing the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee to reclaim it from the old investor and hand it over to SEG Viet Land One Member Co., Ltd. in 2018.

After changing investors, the project continued to be behind schedule. Dak Nong Province extended the deadline a total of 4 times, the last time until the end of 2022, but to date the project has not been completed.

Faced with these long-standing problems, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee has directed a comprehensive inspection of the project to clarify the causes of delays and responsibilities of relevant parties.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , in April 2023, authorities discovered that 73 apartments of this social housing project were sold without the approval of authorities, of which 66 were sold to the wrong subjects.

The social housing project in Nghia Tan ward was implemented with the aim of supporting low-income people and priority subjects according to regulations. However, many home buyers are not people with housing difficulties, but relatives of leaders of some agencies in the province.

After the incident was discovered, some people voluntarily returned their homes, but there are still more than 10 cases that have not been resolved.
