Tien Phong Newspaper awarded 'Supporting Valedictorians' scholarships to 95 students

(CLO) On January 4, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Tien Phong Newspaper organized the awarding of the "Nurturing Valedictorians" scholarship to 95 students.

The representative of the Organizing Committee said that this time, the program received more than 350 student applications nominated by universities and academies for the scholarship program "Nurturing Valedictorians". After a rigorous screening process, the Organizing Committee selected 30 students from the Northern region and 60 students from the Southern region to receive scholarships; 5 students who received scholarships in previous years and maintained good academic performance also continued to receive scholarships on this occasion. Each scholarship is worth 10 million VND in cash and many valuable items.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program in Ho Chi Minh City, journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Director of the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund, Head of the program's Organizing Committee shared that he could never forget the touching stories of the new valedictorians who were orphans, abandoned by their parents, or lost their fathers and mothers, students from extremely poor families, in remote areas but still tried to overcome adversity to bring their dreams to university. In hardship, they have proven that nothing is impossible when we have faith and determination.

“Over the years, we have listened to and shared hundreds of inspiring stories from you. Each story is a song about the spirit of overcoming difficulties, about the desire to reach beautiful dreams. You have proven that poverty is not a barrier, but rather capital, a motivation for us to be more determined in life. You are shining examples of the will to rise up, and you have inspired us about the value of education and talent,” Mr. Phung Cong Suong emphasized.

Over the past 9 years, the Valedictorian Support Program has helped nearly 900 students across the country achieve excellent results in the university entrance exam, with nearly 9 billion VND in cash and useful items worth billions of VND.
