Opening of the Folk Arts and Literature Camp 2025

In his opening speech, Poet Duong Khau Luong - Chairman of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association emphasized that this creative camp gathered 18 authors, including members specializing in folk arts, literature, artisans and some members specializing in photography. The goal of the camp is to record unique cultural and folk arts activities in the province, thereby contributing to preserving and promoting the precious values ​​left by our ancestors.

Over the years, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association has always paid attention to, discovered, trained and encouraged authors and artisans in the field of folk culture and literature. Thanks to that, the number of members and collaborators has increased significantly, especially there have been many valuable collections, typically Poet Trieu Kim Van, Meritorious Artist Ma Van Vinh. In addition, many authors such as Trieu Hoang Giang, Ma Phuong Tan, Phung Thi Huong Ly, Hoang Chien Thang, Nong Van Kim... have contributed research articles on folk culture and literature. Besides, many artisans such as Trong Quyet, Sy Hoan, Ma Trung Truc, Duong Khau Luong have written new lyrics for then, luon, phong slu songs...

However, in reality, this team is still not enough to meet the requirements of research, collection, preservation and promotion of the rich traditional cultural heritage of Bac Kan. Based on that reality, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association organized this writing camp to improve the quality of research, collection and creation of folk culture, which will then be collected and printed into books, serving the teaching and learning in high schools in the province as well as research and study of local culture.

Bac Kan is a mountainous province with many ethnic groups living together, creating a rich and diverse cultural picture. However, under the strong impact of modern culture and the trend of international integration, many heritages are gradually being lost, even at risk of disappearing. This poses an urgent need to preserve and promote traditional cultural values.

The articles in this writing camp will focus on genres such as collecting stories, poems, folk songs, nursery rhymes, proverbs, folk riddles; researching and discussing folk culture and arts; improving and adding new lyrics to folk melodies, then, luon; introducing and recreating cultural heritages; recording folk cultural and artistic activities, etc.

According to the plan, the Campers will complete their articles and send them to the Provincial Literature and Arts Association Office before March 28, 2025. The Organizing Committee will review and select outstanding works to publish in book form in April 2025. This book will be a valuable document to preserve and disseminate knowledge about local folk culture.

On behalf of the 18 Campers, Meritorious Artist Ma Van Vinh expressed his honor to be part of this creative camp. He also shared his concerns about preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values ​​of Bac Kan province. He hopes that with the efforts of the Campers and the support from the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, this year's creative camp will achieve encouraging results, making a positive contribution to the preservation of folk cultural heritage.
