90 excellent students were awarded the "Step Up to Valedictorian" scholarship in 2024

(Fatherland) - On January 4, 2025, outstanding students who are new school valedictorians, major valedictorians, and high-scoring students from universities nationwide were honored at the 2024 "Supporting Valedictorians" scholarship award ceremony held simultaneously at Hong Bang International University (HCMC) and Tien Phong Newspaper Headquarters (Hanoi).

The program's organizing committee carefully reviewed more than 350 applications from universities and academies nationwide to select 90 outstanding students, including 30 students from the Northern region and 60 students from the Southern region. In addition, the organizing committee also awarded scholarships to 5 students who had received the Valedictorian Scholarship in previous years but continued to maintain good academic performance. Each scholarship is worth 10 million VND in cash and many meaningful and valuable items.

Opportunity for students from all regions to meet, exchange and receive worthy gifts for their tireless learning efforts.

Many touching and inspiring stories of young people were recorded at the ceremony, including student Le Van Loc, majoring in Public Relations at Hong Bang International University (HIU). From an incomplete beginning, Van Loc was welcomed and raised by nuns at Phu Hoa Orphanage. Overcoming adversity, the young student has constantly strived to excel in his studies and life. Throughout his high school years, Van Loc made his mark as an excellent student at the provincial level, achieved the title of "5 Good Students", and above all, always kept a strong desire: "Education is the key to opening the door to dreams."

The "Supporting Valedictorians" program is one of the outstanding events of the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund, with Tien Phong newspaper as the permanent organizer. Every year, the program brings opportunities to excellent students, valedictorians and salutatorians of university entrance exams, but in difficult circumstances. This is also the 9th year the program has been organized, recognizing the continuous efforts of the Organizing Committee in supporting and developing young Vietnamese talents. Over the past 9 years, the program has supported nearly 900 students across the country with nearly 9 billion VND and many useful items worth billions of VND.
