Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club recently made history by winning a ticket to the semi-finals of the 2024/2025 Women's Asian Cup 1. More specifically, in the quarter-final match, Huynh Nhu and her teammates had an unexpected comeback to win 5-4 against Abu Dhabi Country Club (UAE).
The AFC homepage described this victory with praise: "A great comeback from the representative of Vietnamese football, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club, defeated Abu Dhabi Country Club with a score of 5-4 in the quarter-finals of the 2024/2025 Asian Cup C1 at Thong Nhat Stadium".
“Having trailed 3-0 at half-time and then 4-2 before winning resoundingly, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club will face the winner of the match between Urawa Red Diamonds and Wuhan Jiangda in the semi-finals in May.”
The Aseanfootball fanpage also gave compliments to the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club for becoming the first team from Southeast Asia to enter the semi-finals of the Asian Women's C1 Cup.
