"We are not much different from the ASEAN Cup. We have not had 10 days to prepare for the match with the Vietnamese team," he added.

However, coach Ha Hyeok Jun also expressed his wish for the Lao team to become stronger with the Lao player himself.

"I want to send Lao players abroad to compete in Korea, Thailand or Vietnam. Only then can the Lao team develop and become stronger," he said.

Talking about the recent friendly match against Sri Lanka at home, coach Ha Hyeok Jun shared: "I was shocked after the match with Sri Lanka. Because almost all of their team were foreign players.

For his part, midfielder Damoth Thongkhamsavath shared: "We will try to minimize our weaknesses to aim for at least 1 point against the Vietnamese team."
