Chain of 7 private practice hospitals nationwide
Always pursuing the mission and vision of becoming one of the prestigious universities training in the health sector, in which the knowledge and professional skills of learners are valued, Phan Chau Trinh University has built its own practice hospital system (BVTH) before starting training.
Initially, there were only 4 Tam Tri General Hospitals in Da Nang, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Thap with a total capacity of 750 beds. Along with the development of training scale and to meet the standards of internship and clinical practice as required by the School Council and the Board of Directors, the school developed the general hospital network with 2 more hospitals in Dong Thap. In 2024, the school will continue to put into operation an additional 300-bed hospital right on campus, increasing the Institute - School system to 7 hospitals, with a total capacity of 1,400 beds, which is a practical training facility according to Decree 111/2017/ND-CP of the Government.
With this model, the school's training activities ensure that practice always goes hand in hand with theory, and the ratio of internship and practice at the hospital accounts for 70% to 80% of the duration of each training program.

How to implement the Institute - School model effectively and practically?
First of all, the School Board, the Board of Directors and the BVTH Executive Board must be consistent from the liberal education philosophy, the training philosophy to change, to the strategic training goals, taking students as the center, patients as important and the profession as supreme. From there, build different graduation standards, and the training program and training methods must also be improved to meet the output standards.
It is noteworthy that all the practice hospitals and schools are run by a single entity. This structure creates consistency from school to hospital, aiming to realize the strategic training goals of Phan Chau Trinh University. The physician who guides the clinical students is also the lecturer who guides the theory for the students - two in one. Theoretical content is transformed into the process of internship, clinical practice, and patient care at the hospital.
Thanks to that, the school's students have access to the Institute - School ecosystem very early and easily. At the same time, it is also a good condition for students to apply the knowledge they have learned into practice in a synchronous and logical way.
Experience hospital internship from the first year
All students of the school are given internships and practical experience in the hospital environment right from the first day of school. This is the wish of every health care student. Early internships and practical experience at the hospital also help students develop their five senses and thereby form the personality of a physician, a medical staff with a complete mind and heart.
Doctor Nguyen Huu Tung - President of the school said: "From the first day of school, students must be exposed to the hospital to feel the overall structure and work of the hospital's members. They must feel the pain of the sick, hear the cry of a newborn baby, recognize the smell of the hospital and the gentle eyes of the nurse, the hardship of the doctor when encountering a difficult case. They will feel the long nights of being on duty with their teacher, or holding the patient's hand and seeing their happiness when the doctor cures them. And from there, the personality of a health care student will be formed over time, before being allowed by their teacher to directly receive real practice cases."
He also added: For medical students, they must also learn and practice nursing skills proficiently to thoroughly understand the process of patient care. Therefore, the school's training program is structured so that students can study this subject in the first semester.
In addition, students here also have many other benefits. That is, students also have access to medical records, called student medical records, compiled by the school based on the US student records. Student medical records are programmed for use in clinical practice throughout the course.
Laboratory Technology students are taking test samples during a clinical internship at the school's practice hospital.
Lecturers participating in guiding internships and clinical practice are called CIs (Clinical Instructors). They are good doctors working at the Institute - PCTU School. The quality standard of clinical guidance is unitized as 1.5/1, meaning that a CI is only allowed to guide a maximum of 5 students/bed. The quality of clinical guidance will be assessed by the learners, the CIs themselves, the professional management department of the CIs and the reliable independent assessment department EPA (Entrusted Professional Assessment).
The results of the survey by the Center for Testing and Quality Assurance of the school have demonstrated that the Institute - School model of PCTU and the educational methods based on the school's foundation and philosophy bring positive results and professional skills of students beyond expectations.
