On the morning of December 27, at the National Funeral House, the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the family solemnly held the funeral of General Nguyen Quyet.
Comrade General Nguyen Quyet (birth name Nguyen Tien Van), born on August 20, 1922; hometown: Chinh Nghia Commune, Kim Dong District, Hung Yen Province; permanent residence at 02/4 Yecxanh, Pham Dinh Ho Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi City; participated in the revolution in 1939; joined the Party in May 1940.
He was a member of the Party Central Committee of the 4th, 5th and 6th terms; Secretary of the Party Central Committee of the 6th term; Vice Chairman of the State Council of the 8th term (now Vice President); former member of the Central Military Commission; Deputy Minister of National Defense; Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; National Assembly delegate of the 4th, 7th and 8th terms.
After a period of serious illness, despite the devoted care and treatment of the Party, the State, the collective of professors, doctors and family, due to old age and poor health, he passed away at 9:09 p.m. on December 23, 2024 (ie November 23, Giap Thin year) at the 108 Central Military Hospital, at the age of 102.
During more than 65 years of revolutionary activities, he made many contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation; was awarded the Gold Star Order by the Party and the State; the 85-year Party membership badge and many other noble orders and medals.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the Central Party Executive Committee delegation led by General Secretary To Lam visited General Nguyen Quyet.

Writing in the condolence book, General Secretary To Lam - Secretary of the Central Military Commission wrote: "The Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam respectfully pays tribute to General Nguyen Quyet, a staunch communist who participated in leading the Vietnamese revolution, a talented general of the People's Army, and an outstanding son of his homeland Hung Yen.
His revolutionary life began very early, in the very difficult days of the country, but he was enlightened very early, correctly perceived the Party's revolutionary path and participated in leading the revolution and the army to victory after victory, bringing glory to the country and homeland."
General Secretary To Lam affirmed: "Comrade's life is a shining example for cadres, party members, armed forces and youth to learn and follow. We will continue to promote the achievements of the revolution and firmly defend the Fatherland, successfully building socialism in our country."

Respectfully offering incense to express their infinite sorrow over the passing of General Nguyen Quyet, the Hanoi City delegation observed a minute of silence to commemorate the comrade and shared and encouraged his family members.
On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of the capital, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai emotionally wrote in the condolence book:
"The Party Committee, government, people and armed forces of Hanoi deeply mourn comrade Nguyen Quyet, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee (August 1945), former Vice Chairman of the State Council, former Director of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army.
During more than 65 years of revolutionary activities, he made many contributions to the revolution, the Party, the nation and the capital Hanoi.
General Nguyen Quyet directly led the people of Hanoi to rise up and successfully carry out the General Uprising to seize power, making a very important contribution to the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945) and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. He was awarded the Gold Star Order, the 85-year Party membership badge and many other noble orders and medals by the Party and State.
The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee also affirmed that the Party Committee, government, people and armed forces of the capital Hanoi would like to unite, strive, and firmly follow the revolutionary path, firmly uphold the goals and ideals of the Party, Uncle Ho, predecessors and General Nguyen Quyet, and be determined to build a prosperous, democratic, prosperous, civilized and happy Vietnam; and build a Cultural - Civilized - Modern Capital as General Nguyen Quyet's lifelong wish.

The memorial service for General Nguyen Quyet will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on December 27, 2024.
