Delegates release aquatic seeds into Dong Ho lagoon.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tien City (Kien Giang) Tran Hai Quoc said that every year, the seafood exploitation and aquaculture profession has brought considerable economic value to fishing households in the city.

However, overexploitation and improper use of fishing tools have had a huge impact on the marine environment as well as affected the natural regeneration capacity of aquatic resources.

The quantity of aquatic products is not as much as before, but the marine environment and aquatic resources will be restored, regenerated and developed if used and exploited properly. Therefore, the People's Committee of Ha Tien City mobilizes all people inside and outside the city to join hands to preserve and develop aquatic resources and protect the ecological environment.

Ha Tien City released over 2 million shrimp, crab, and fish of all kinds into the natural environment.

This year, Ha Tien City organized the release of over 2 million shrimp, crab, and fish of all kinds into Dong Ho lagoon; of which, 17 organizations, businesses, and individuals enthusiastically participated in releasing over 1 million shrimp and donated over 29 million VND in cash.

Ha Tien City People's Committee calls on organizations and individuals to "Join hands to protect the marine environment, protect and develop aquatic resources".
