Attending the meeting were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Nguyen Van Quyet; Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman in charge of the Provincial People's Council - Mai Van Nhieu; Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department - Hoang Dinh Can; Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa along with leaders of the health sector through the periods, medical units, and doctors.
At the ceremony, delegates listened to Uncle Ho's letter to medical staff, reviewed the traditions of the health sector , the meaning and birth of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27) and the development of the provincial health sector.
Over 70 years of formation and development, the provincial health sector has achieved many achievements in public health care. Medical facilities and equipment have received investment attention.
The quality of medical examination and treatment is increasingly improved, many new technical specialties are deployed and implemented. Preventive medical work is deployed promptly and effectively.
Despite many difficulties and challenges, the medical team is united and strives to excellently fulfill medical targets, especially in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Individuals awarded the title "Excellent Physician"
The provincial health sector achieved and exceeded many important targets such as the ratio of doctors/10,000 people reaching 9.5, reaching 100% of the plan. The number of people participating in health insurance reached 94.27%, exceeding the planned target.
Stunting (height-for-age) in children under 5 years old reached 17.2%, meeting the planned target. Effectively maintain the replacement fertility rate, strive to keep the average number of children per couple of childbearing age at 2 children;…
Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa praised the achievements of the health sector in recent times; at the same time, deeply appreciated the efforts of generations of doctors in the cause of taking care of people's health.
He suggested that the provincial health sector continue to improve preventive medicine capacity; strengthen primary health care; develop community health care, manage non-communicable diseases well; build a professional network of out-of-hospital emergency care; promote the development of specialized health care in the direction of Long An soon becoming a health care center closely connected with the health system of Ho Chi Minh City;...
Rewarding individuals with outstanding contributions to the provincial health sector on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day
On this occasion, 6 individuals were honored to be awarded the title "Excellent Physician" by the President and 10 collectives and 10 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding contributions to the Health sector of Long An province on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Physicians' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025)./.
