(NLĐ) – Senior leaders of HDBank and VIB together bought millions of shares of these two banks in the context of a gloomy market.
On November 13, HDBank shares were priced at VND25,650.
Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (HDBank - stock code HDB) has just announced that Mr. Pham Quoc Thanh, General Director of HDBank, plans to buy HDB shares for investment.
Specifically, Mr. Thanh registered to buy 1 million HDB shares. The transaction is expected to take place from November 18 to December 16.
If the market price of HDB shares on November 13 is 25,650 VND, Mr. Thanh must spend 25.65 billion VND to complete the stock purchase.
Currently, Mr. Thanh is holding more than 5.8 million HDB shares. If this new purchase is successful, the total number of shares Mr. Thanh owns will increase to over 6.8 million units.
Meanwhile, Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VIB) announced that Mr. Ho Van Long, Deputy General Director of VIB, bought 3 million VIB shares on November 8 by negotiation and order matching. As a result, Mr. Long increased his ownership to 14.5 million shares.
During the session on November 8, VIB shares were traded at around VND18,250 - VND18,600/share. It is estimated that at the average price of VND18,425/share, Mr. Long spent more than VND55 billion to buy 3 million VIB shares.
In addition, another senior leader of VIB, Ms. Nguyen Minh Hue - Director of Legal Services Department for Operation and Corporate Governance, also registered to buy 100,000 VIB shares. The transaction is expected to be carried out from November 14 to November 29, by order matching and negotiation.
Previously, strategic shareholder Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) confirmed that it had divested capital from VIB after selling shares twice, about 5% and 10% of charter capital, respectively, in two sessions on September 24 and October 29, reducing its ownership ratio to about 5% of capital at VIB.
