(NLĐO) - The contractor has committed to increasing manpower and machinery to speed up construction and compensate for the delay, ensuring the project is completed before August 30th.
On March 12th, the Dak Lak Provincial Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Transportation and Rural Development Projects (representing the investor of component 3 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway project) announced that the leadership of the contractor, Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1), has committed to overcoming difficulties and shortcomings on the construction site to accelerate the project's progress.
Contractor CC1 is committed to accelerating the progress to make up for the delayed work volume.
According to the investor's representative, CC1 has committed to increasing manpower, machinery, and construction materials, as well as increasing shifts to compensate for the missed deadlines and ensure the project is completed on schedule.
At the meeting, the investor requested contractor CC1 to urgently complete the mine procedures, build the transportation road for the Ea Kênh soil mine, and proceed with mining to construct the K98 layer in the sections where K95 has been completed. They also requested the urgent stockpiling of crushed stone aggregate for the construction of the crushed stone base. Furthermore, they requested an increase in manpower to focus on the construction of the bridges...
Mr. Phan Huu Duy Quoc (far right), Chairman of the Board of Directors of CC1, stated that the delay in progress was due to both objective and subjective reasons.
Explaining the reasons for the delay, an official from CC1 stated that from the commencement date of December 9, 2024, the contractor faced difficulties regarding the waste disposal site due to the lack of approval, leading to delays in excavation and transportation. In addition, the contractor also encountered difficulties with quarries for earth fill and stone materials, significantly hindering construction and project progress. Furthermore, the ongoing construction of K95 and K98 earth fill is time-consuming but accounts for a small percentage of the total contract value.
"CC1 is determined to strive to complete the K98 land section before April 15th and finish the asphalt paving before July 30th. The project will be completed before August 30th as committed," said a CC1 official.
Mr. Phan Huu Duy Quoc, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CC1, acknowledged the delays and the shortcomings in project management. Besides objective reasons, there were also subjective reasons.
"During the construction process, CC1 encountered significant difficulties regarding earthworks and stone. We hope to receive support from the provincial leadership to resolve these issues completely so that we can secure the necessary construction materials. Once the contractor has secured the materials, we will mobilize all equipment, machinery, and personnel to work day and night to regain the progress and complete the project on schedule as committed," Mr. Quoc affirmed.
As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper, despite many advantages such as early handover of the site and sunny weather, CC1's contract package has been continuously behind schedule. At the time of reporting, this contract package was 25% behind the committed schedule, so the investor requested that the work be transferred to another unit to ensure the overall progress of the project, as directed by the Prime Minister , which is to open the road before August 30th.
