Will give opinions on energy monitoring topic in September 2023

On the afternoon of August 21, at the National Assembly House, the Supervisory Delegation "Implementation of policies and laws on energy development in the period 2016-2021" held its 3rd meeting. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai, Head of the Supervisory Delegation chaired the meeting.

Reporting on the implementation of thematic supervision of "implementation of policies and laws on energy development in the period of 2016 - 2021", Vice Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Ta Dinh Thi said that to serve the activities of the Supervision Team, the support team has carried out the following tasks: Developing and submitting for promulgation a detailed supervision plan, report outlines to the People's Committees of provinces, cities, ministries, branches, and corporations requesting reports and deadlines for sending reports to the Supervision Team (through the Standing Committee of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment);

Develop and submit reference reports to serve the Supervisory Delegation on a number of issues of Vietnam's energy development; Develop and submit official dispatches to urge relevant agencies to submit reports according to the outline, proactively contact localities that submit reports behind schedule to remind them to submit reports; Develop and submit official dispatches to request the Central Inspection Commission, the Central Economic Commission, the Government Inspectorate, and the State Audit to provide information and documents to serve the Supervisory Delegation.

Mr. Thi said that up to now, the working group has received reports from the Government, 10/10 Ministries, branches, 63/63 Provincial/City People's Committees, 63/63 National Assembly Delegations, 03/03 economic groups and additional reports from agencies serving the Working Group (Government, 10/10 Ministries, branches, 03/03 economic groups, 11/11 Provincial/City People's Committees).

At the meeting, members of the Supervisory Delegation focused on contributing opinions to the draft Resolution of the Supervisory Delegation "Implementation of policies and laws on energy development in the period 2016-2021" and the Plan to organize a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee to give opinions on this supervision topic scheduled for September 2023.

The majority of members of the Supervisory Delegation said that the implementation of policies and laws on energy development in the 2016-2021 period has initially fulfilled the goals, requirements and tasks set out in the Party's strategic direction and achieved many positive results.

In addition to the achieved results, members of the Supervisory Delegation said that the implementation of policies and laws on energy development in the 2016-2021 period still has some difficulties and problems that need more effective solutions in the coming time.

Accordingly, members of the Supervisory Delegation proposed to continue to improve the policy and legal framework on energy development to be suitable and consistent between energy development policy and related policies;

It is necessary to mention more clearly in the draft Resolution the demand for energy consumption in the coming time, clean energy sources, global energy transition trends, promoting a fair and sustainable energy transition...

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai, Head of the Supervisory Delegation, highly appreciated the contributions of the members of the Supervisory Delegation to the draft Resolution of the Supervisory Delegation "Implementation of policies and laws on energy development in the period 2016-2021" and the Plan to organize a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee to give opinions on this supervisory topic scheduled for September 2023.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai also requested that National Assembly deputies, members, and working groups assisting the Supervisory Delegation continue to promote a high sense of responsibility to complete the draft Resolution in writing.

In particular, focusing on a number of specific contents, issues, and solutions in implementing policies and laws on energy development in the 2016-2021 period to soon submit to the National Assembly Standing Committee for comments at the meeting in September 2023 .
