In order to carry out environmental protection work in the area, the People's Committee of the commune has promoted propaganda work, raised awareness among union members, association members and people about environmental protection, collected and classified waste at the source and treated waste according to regulations, especially measures to recycle, reuse, reduce plastic waste and nylon bags. Mobilized people from all walks of life to actively participate in the movement "Phuc Ung joins hands to treat waste and fight plastic waste"; Volunteer Saturday to build new rural areas; flower and ecological brick roads, the movement "Building a family of 5 no 3 clean"; the movement "Green Sunday", "Green house", associated with the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas"; built 229 tanks and collected, transported and destroyed used pesticide packaging in the area;

Regarding the socialization of collection, transportation and treatment of household waste in rural areas, there are still many difficulties. Most social organizations in rural areas have only been able to carry out propaganda, raise public awareness, and organize waste collection without having any treatment measures, leading to increasing environmental pollution due to waste.

The monitoring delegation of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation inspected the implementation of policies and laws on environmental protection in Phuc Ung commune (Son Duong).

Waste classification: Total number of households classifying domestic solid waste at source: 2,151/2,346 households, reaching 91.7% compared to the number of households in the commune. Food waste is collected and used as fertilizer, animal feed (vegetables, fruits, leftover rice); Solid waste that can be recycled and reused (packaging, aluminum shells, plastic, scrap iron and steel) is collected and sold to scrap purchasing facilities; Other domestic solid waste is transferred to centralized waste collection and treatment units in the commune or self-sorted and treated at home...

At the working session, members of the monitoring delegation and commune leaders, socio-political organizations discussed and clarified issues related to waste treatment, collection of used pesticide containers; waste collection and treatment; building environmental protection models in the area; handling and monitoring environmental protection activities of quarries and livestock farms in the area... At the same time, solutions were proposed to improve and effectively implement policies and laws on environmental protection in the commune in the coming time.

Concluding the monitoring session, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Ma Thi Thuy acknowledged and highly appreciated the report on the implementation of policies and laws on environmental protection since the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 took effect in the commune. However, there were still many limitations in the process of inspecting the implementation of environmental protection in the area, so she requested the commune to propagate to people to thoroughly use environmental protection measures, and at the same time, the commune needs to resolutely handle cases of livestock farming causing pollution in the area.

Continuing the working program in Son Duong district, on the afternoon of March 19, the National Assembly Delegation of the province supervised at DABACO Tuyen Quang Company Limited, Phuc Ung commune (Son Duong) on ​​the implementation of policies and laws on environmental protection since the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 took effect.

The members of the monitoring delegation discussed and clarified issues related to waste treatment, green tree planting areas, environmental incident response plans, troubleshooting of the company's wastewater treatment system, and voters' opinions and recommendations on the company's environmental pollution in recent times.

Concluding the monitoring session, comrade Ma Thi Thuy acknowledged and highly appreciated the company's constant concern for ensuring environmental hygiene in the livestock farming area, in which the company has invested in a modern waste treatment system, applying scientific and technical advances to the environmental hygiene treatment process in the company. She requested that in the coming time, the company urgently overcome the environmental incidents that voters have reported in the past, to avoid serious environmental incidents related to the unit's livestock farming activities...
