On March 7, Vingroup Corporation's VIC shares hit the ceiling (+6.97%) to VND45,300/share. Liquidity increased, reaching 11.5 million units, equivalent to VND511 billion. The company's capitalization thereby increased by VND11,278 billion.

Not only VIC, all companies in the Vingroup ecosystem had positive developments. Specifically, Vinhomes JSC (HoSE: VHM) increased by 3.1%, Vincom Retail JSC (HoSE: VRE) increased by 1.96%, Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center JSC (UPCoM: VEF) increased by 1.49%.

The assets of Ms. Pham Thu Huong - wife of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong increased by 415 billion VND to 7,729 billion VND right before International Women's Day on March 8, thanks to direct ownership of 170.6 million VIC shares.

Thanks to the positive performance of Vingroup, VN-Index improved in the last trading session of the week, increasing by 7.83 points to 1,326.05 points. The index increased by 20.69 points last week, marking a streak of 7 consecutive weeks of increase.

"Sensitive" to IPO deals

Vingroup group traded quite peacefully in the morning session but exploded in the afternoon session after information that Vinpearl submitted its application for listing on HoSE. This is a subsidiary of the group, in charge of tourism and resorts, with a charter capital of VND17,933 billion, equivalent to nearly 1.8 billion shares that will be in circulation soon.

Previously, Vinpearl announced its 2024 business results with revenue of VND 14,376 billion and profit after tax of VND 2,550 billion, up 55% and 280% respectively compared to 2023. At the end of 2024, the company's total assets reached more than VND 76,483 billion, up 73% compared to the beginning of the year.

In fact, Vinpearl was listed on HoSE in 2008 with the code VPL, but then delisted in 2011 due to merging with Vincom JSC to form Vingroup Corporation as it is today.

Vingroup’s stock performance is sensitive to IPOs of its subsidiaries. Prior to the Vinhomes listing in 2018, VIC rose 84% in 2017 and continued to increase by 49% in 2018. VIC also jumped nearly 50% during the VinFast listing in August 2023.
