The 18th International Exhibition on Packaging Technology - ProPak Vietnam 2025 and the 12th International Exhibition on Raw Materials, Equipment, Machinery for Plastic and Rubber Industry - Plastics & Rubber Vietnam 2025 take place from March 18 to 20 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC, District 7).

This year, the exhibition brings together more than 410 exhibitors from 29 countries and territories such as the UK, Germany, Japan, Korea, the US, Singapore, China, etc.

In the context of increasingly stringent environmental regulations, this year's packaging, plastics and rubber exhibition focuses on technological solutions to help businesses transition to sustainable production models, reduce emissions and improve competitiveness.

At the event, many modern technology solutions were introduced to support businesses in transforming production towards sustainability.

Notable initiatives include improving processing and packaging processes, developing environmentally friendly materials, optimizing the use of raw materials, and applying recycling technology in production.

These innovations not only help businesses meet international standards but also promote a circular economic model, adding sustainable value to the industry.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Tran Viet Anh, Chairman of the Vietnam Waste Recycling Association, assessed that the Vietnamese plastic and rubber industry is growing strongly with a revenue of about 25 billion USD/year, an average growth rate of 10-12%, while rubber exports reach 3.5 billion USD/year.

Along with the growth rate, the industry also faces increasing environmental pressure. Vietnam discharges about 60,000 tons of waste every day, with Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi alone accounting for nearly 24,000 tons. Of this, the proportion of unrecycled plastic and rubber waste remains high, requiring advanced technological solutions for treatment, while raising public awareness about waste classification.

According to Mr. Viet Anh, promoting sustainable production and applying recycling technology is an inevitable trend. He expects that the two international exhibitions on packaging and the plastic and rubber industry in 2025 will become a driving force and a bridge to help businesses innovate technology, improve production capacity, and meet increasingly strict environmental standards.

Similarly, Mr. Luong Xuan Dung, chief of office of the Vietnam Beer, Alcohol and Beverage Association, emphasized the important role of packaging in preserving and distributing goods, especially in the beverage industry.

According to Mr. Dung, developing the green packaging industry not only helps businesses meet environmental regulations but also brings long-term competitive advantages. Recycled packaging and smart packaging technology are becoming an irreversible trend in the market.
