Spread awareness of environmental protection

After nearly 2 months of implementing the emulation movement "Bright - green - clean - beautiful", localities in Hanoi have carried out specific, practical tasks, suitable for each residential area. In particular, each family and residential area proactively collects and sorts waste at the source, actively plants trees, and creates a clean and beautiful landscape.

According to Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Ba Trung District Nguyen Xuan Diep, in 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the district deployed the model of skillful mass mobilization "The Front Work Committee and mass organizations compete to implement the model, self-management work to build a bright - green - clean - beautiful residential area".

In 15/15 wards, 214 Front Work Committees have registered 225 models and tasks to be implemented in 2025. Accordingly, each residential group and residential area has registered to implement at least one project or task to mobilize people to join hands in maintaining environmental sanitation, beautifying the urban landscape, and making residential areas greener and cleaner. These models and tasks are implemented from socialized sources, ensuring savings, practicality, and serving the needs of the people.

“With the active participation of the people, since the beginning of the year, the urban appearance of Hai Ba Trung district has clearly changed. Garbage dumping sites have been gradually eliminated, replaced by flower gardens and places for people to play. Thereby, the clean and beautiful environment has brought a cheerful appearance to many alleys and streets,” said Ms. Diep.

Like many other localities in the city, the Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Mai Dong Ward (Hoang Mai District) have just organized a ceremony to launch the campaign to protect the urban landscape and environmental sanitation "Protecting and preserving the Kim Nguu River"; committed to and launched the emulation movement "Bright - green - clean - beautiful"; deployed the contest "Clean house - green alley" for skillful mass mobilization. Secretary of the Party Cell and Head of the Front Work Committee of residential groups No. 11 and 21 of Tan Mai Ward, Nguyen Le Thanh, said that residential groups 11 and 21 have nearly 2,000 people and are located in low-lying areas, so environmental issues are always of concern to the people.

One of the regularly implemented activities is to propagate and mobilize people to classify garbage right at home, coordinate with environmental sanitation companies to collect garbage on time, in the right place, and remove garbage spots... "When the city and district launched the emulation movement "Bright - green - clean - beautiful", we were motivated to persistently propagate and mobilize people. Along with organizing the signing of commitments with 100% of households registering to preserve and protect the environment, in the near future, we will assign people to be on duty and install surveillance cameras at places where garbage spots have been removed. Hopefully, with a drastic and synchronous approach, the emulation movement "Bright - green - clean - beautiful" will really bring about clear results" - Ms. Thanh shared.

Directly inspecting the environmental sanitation work, planting flowers to remove garbage spots, and painting murals on some streets, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Dang Thi Phuong Hoa highly appreciated the models in environmental protection work that the Fatherland Front in many localities is implementing. The model has mobilized the participation of people, promoted the initiative and positivity of people in maintaining environmental sanitation, cleaning and beautifying the urban landscape. To maintain environmental sanitation work, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels of the city needs to continue to propagate and replicate typical models to continue to spread throughout the city. From there, making environmental sanitation and beautifying the urban landscape a regular task of every citizen.

Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Hoa also requested that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of localities effectively implement Plan 366 dated December 13, 2024 of the City People's Committee on improving the quality of environmental sanitation, collection and transportation of domestic solid waste in 4 inner-city districts. In particular, doing a good job of propaganda and mobilizing union members, association members and people to classify solid waste at source; recycle, reuse, collect, store, transfer and treat solid waste in accordance with regulations as well as supervise the implementation.
