According to AFP, on February 28, Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky said he believed the relationship between Kiev and Washington could be saved, after a tense argument with his US counterpart Donald Trump at the White House earlier that day.

"Of course" the relationship between the two wartime allies can be repaired, Zelensky told Fox News , adding that he did not want to lose the United States as a partner.
The leader of the Eastern European nation also affirmed that he wanted Mr. Trump to "truly stand on our side more".
Refusing to apologise for his unusual row with President Donald Trump at the White House, Mr Zelensky added: "I think we have to be very open and very frank, and I'm not sure that we did anything wrong."
In another related development, also on February 28, Reuters reported that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen expressed support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after a heated argument between him and his US counterpart Donald Trump in the Oval Office earlier that day.
For her part, High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas declared that "the free world needs a new leader" after the above controversy.
In a social media post, Ms Kallas stressed: "Ukraine is Europe! We support Ukraine. We will increase our support for Ukraine."
Russia has not yet commented on the meeting between the US and Ukraine leaders.
