Quang Ninh strives to elevate tourism, positioning the brand as a four-season destination

Quang Ninh aims to welcome 20 million visitors in 2025, creating a strong "boost" for the tourism industry, continuing to affirm its position on the map of Vietnam and the world.

Since the beginning of 2025, Quang Ninh province has issued many important policies to create favorable conditions for the tourism industry to develop.

According to information from the Quang Ninh Provincial Tourism Association, the province has had close and drastic instructions, demonstrated through the development of a plan to organize 170 events in 2025. Of these, there are 24 international and national events, 146 city-level events.

Events are held every quarter to attract visitors with the goal of becoming a four-season tourist destination.

"Paving the way" for tourism to break through

To achieve the target of 20 million visitors this year, Quang Ninh is stepping up investment in tourism infrastructure.

One of the important projects is the development of traffic routes connecting with provinces and cities, especially the completion of the highway system, connecting flights to Van Don international airport, and seaports to facilitate the travel of tourists.

Along with that, the province also promotes international tourism promotion, focusing on traditional markets such as Korea, China, Taiwan (China) and potential markets such as India, Australia, Germany.

Strengthen cooperation with reputable domestic and foreign travel businesses, welcome international travel business delegations and press to survey and promote.

In particular, the mining area focuses on exchanging and reaching consensus with tourism management agencies in some Chinese localities to agree on solutions to attract and exchange tourists, remove difficulties, problems and issues in managing the tourism business environment.

At the same time, we are focusing on upgrading accommodation services, from 5-star hotels to high-end resorts, to meet the needs of tourists. Central tourist areas, especially Ha Long city, are being invested in to create a favorable environment for tourists to visit and experience.

The province plans to organize a series of "huge" events throughout 2025, imbued with the local cultural, sports and tourism identity.

Among them, notable events include the Ha Long Carnival 2025, Bach Dang Traditional Festival, Quang Ninh Ethnic Culture Festival 2025, Aqua Warriors HaLong Bay 2025, Quang Ninh Summer OCOP Fair 2025, Kite Festival and Lion and Dragon Dance Festival.

These events promise to bring visitors unforgettable experiences, contributing to creating a vibrant and impressive 2025 tourist season in this land.

In particular, in the third and fourth quarters of 2025, the Autumn-Winter Tourism Week will take place with a series of attractive sports tournaments such as the 2025 National U23 Fencing Championship, the Quang Ninh Open Sports Dance Tournament, the 2025 Yen Tu Heritage Marathon...

This diverse and attractive series of events is expected to attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists, creating a breakthrough momentum for the local tourism industry.

Diversify types of experiences, enhance tourism

An important factor that helps Quang Ninh attract tourists is the development and diversification of tourism products. The province not only focuses on sea tourism, but also develops cultural, ecological, adventure sports and resort tourism.

Quang Ninh owns many historical and cultural relics such as Yen Tu Pagoda, Cai Bau Pagoda, and unique festivals. Developing cultural tours combined with historical and religious experiences will be a highlight to attract tourists.

With areas such as Co To Island, Van Don and primeval forests, Quang Ninh has the potential to strongly develop eco-tourism and adventure sports such as mountain climbing, hiking, or exploring caves.

Co To district continues to develop a night-time economic model to maximize its existing tourism potential and advantages. In particular, it aims to build a night market model, organize walking street activities, create a vibrant walking street space, and combine entertainment, cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities with business and services.

The district also promotes tourism on social networks and creates tourism publications and video clips to promote and stimulate tourism.

In addition, tourism businesses in the province also actively promote Quang Ninh tourist destinations on the media and build attractive tourism packages, creating conditions for tourists to have memorable experiences in Quang Ninh.

Challenges and opportunities

The goal of attracting 20 million tourists to Quang Ninh by 2025 is a big challenge but also an opportunity to continue affirming its position in Vietnam's tourism industry.

Competition from other tourist destinations in the region and around the world will require Quang Ninh to constantly innovate and improve the quality of its products and services.

Maintaining a balance between tourism development and preserving natural values, while ensuring high-quality tourism human resources, is also a problem that needs to be solved.

However, Quang Ninh is also facing great opportunities. The trend of experiential tourism and sustainable tourism is increasingly popular globally, in line with the province's potential.

Promoting and expanding the tourist market from different countries, especially combined with the development of information technology and social networking platforms, will all be a strong "lever" for the province's tourism promotion.

With a comprehensive development strategy of infrastructure, diverse tourism products and strong promotional programs, we believe that Quang Ninh can overcome challenges and achieve its goals by 2025.
