Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung visits the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou

On March 19, right after arriving in Guangzhou city (China), Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung had a friendly meeting with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Guangzhou.

Also attending the meeting with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou were Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee Le Quang Manh; Deputy Chief of the Office, Central Party Committee Vo Thanh Hung; Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee Nguyen Hong Son; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang; Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Tam; Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong and Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee.

On behalf of the Consulate General staff, Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung reported to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung on the work of the representative agency in implementing bilateral foreign affairs between the two countries, as well as between ministries, sectors and localities of Vietnam and Guangdong province, and consular work and work with Vietnamese people in the area.

Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung reported to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and the delegation about the work of the representative agency.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung praised the Consulate General's positive contributions to the overall achievements of the diplomatic sector, and appreciated its efforts in organizing many practical activities to promote and strengthen the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and build political trust by implementing extensive and practical cooperation in various fields.

The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that the Consulate General will increase exchanges with relevant agencies of Guangdong province to learn about experiences in building and implementing policies and programs on: developing the private economy, forming large enterprises, especially technology enterprises with a leading role, developing an innovation ecosystem; supporting the strengthening of links between enterprises, between large enterprises, FDI enterprises and small and medium enterprises; and developing new economic models such as free trade zones, international and regional financial centers, and technology special economic zone models, etc.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung's working trip to Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces (from March 17-20) is a high-level diplomatic activity of Vietnam to China on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025) and the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year.

The visit once again affirmed that developing stable, sustainable and long-term relations, constantly strengthening political trust, expanding and deepening cooperation with China has always been a consistent policy, strategic choice and top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralization.
