Currently, in Thai Nguyen province, there are many women who have successfully started businesses, are the owners of famous products and goods, and actively contribute to local economic development.

People who dare to think, dare to do

Nguyen Thi Thoa (born in 2000) in Chau Son ward, Song Cong city (Thai Nguyen), is a young woman born and raised in the city, but has succeeded in producing mountain specialties such as sausages and smoked pork. Initially, she only produced small quantities to serve friends and acquaintances. Up to now, her products have a brand (Thoa Nguyen), are certified as OCOP products and have expanded their markets nationwide.

Ms. Thoa shared that coming to the sausage production profession was a fate. Starting from the realization that at the end of the year, families often process smoked sausages and smoked meat - traditional dishes of the highlanders, to use during Tet and as gifts, from 2021, she boldly started a business and determined to produce systematically, becoming a competitive product in the market.

Currently, Ms. Thoa's production facility is about 200 m² wide, divided into separate areas, with cold storage for product preservation. Products are manufactured in a one-way process, from receiving raw materials to finished products. Mountain spices such as pepper, cinnamon, and star anise are carefully selected from the best types. All ingredients for processing are completely natural, ensuring food hygiene and safety and produced according to separate formulas.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai, Director of La Bang Tea Cooperative (Rung Van Hamlet, La Bang Commune, Dai Tu District, Thai Nguyen Province) is one of those who not only succeeded in production and business but also contributed to building the La Bang tea brand to reach the market. Although a farmer, in 2006, Ms. Hai became the first person to boldly gather households and establish a cooperative specializing in tea production.

To date, La Bang tea products of the Cooperative have achieved 4-star OCOP certification, and are available in major supermarkets and clean food chains across the country. La Bang Tea Cooperative is also a pioneer in producing tea according to VietGAP standards since 2010. By 2019, Ms. Hai was the first person in Dai Tu district to produce organic tea on an area of about 10 hectares.

Ms. Hai said that, having been attached to the tea land since childhood, she clearly understands the characteristics of the land here, where the natural conditions are ideal for growing high-quality tea. The cooperative has cleverly utilized the advantages of La Bang specialty tea land to produce clean, delicious tea products, meeting the strict market demands. At the same time, the cooperative also applies advanced farming methods combined with traditional methods to create outstanding tea products.
