On the morning of March 12, Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh attended the groundbreaking ceremony of VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park (IP) project.
The project is of great significance to the development of Quang Ngai province, and was broken ground on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Ba To Uprising (March 11, 1945 - March 11, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Quang Ngai province (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025).
VSIP II Quang Ngai project was approved by the Prime Minister in principle for investment at the end of December 2023, with a scale of nearly 500 hectares, a total investment of nearly 3,800 billion VND and an operation period of 50 years.
It is expected that after completion, VSIP II Quang Ngai will create jobs for about 50,000 workers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh requested ministries and branches to actively and proactively inspect, supervise and support investors, and assist with difficulties and obstacles in the process of project implementation.
Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee directed relevant units to urgently and actively support VSIP Quang Ngai to complete procedures for investment preparation, site clearance compensation, and resettlement according to regulations, ensuring that resettled people have new, suitable and better housing than their old ones, protecting the rights and livelihoods of people in the project area. Planning and allocating land for building houses for workers.
VSIP Quang Ngai urgently completes the project according to the project investment objectives, ensuring quality and on schedule.
"The Vietnamese Government affirms that it will continue to maintain a stable investment environment, promote administrative procedure reform, and improve the legal system to create an open and healthy investment environment. We believe that with the support of the governments of Vietnam and Singapore, VSIP will continue to be a symbol of good cooperation between the two countries, develop strongly in Vietnam, and contribute to making the Vietnam - Singapore strategic partnership more vibrant," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province awarded investment registration certificates to new investment projects and expansion investment projects at VSIP Quang Ngai.
VSIP Quang Ngai project was built in 2013, and has so far developed about 480ha/582ha. After more than 11 years of operation, VSIP Quang Ngai has attracted 44 projects, including 38 FDI projects from countries/territories: USA, Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Belgium, China... creating about 40,000 jobs for local workers, contributing to changing the face of the industrial park, while spreading the best investment and production environment in the Central Central region.
