Kien Giang: Two 8th grade female students in Rach Gia City got into a fight in the restroom, one of them had her head slammed on the tile floor and was punched repeatedly.
According to a report from Vo Van Kiet Secondary and High School, the incident occurred on the afternoon of March 27 between two 8th grade students. According to a nearly 2.5 minute video circulating on social media, the two female students argued, then grabbed each other's hair and fought.
One girl repeatedly elbowed her friend, threw her to the bathroom floor, slammed her head on the tile floor, and punched her repeatedly. After that, she forced her friend to apologize before stopping. Two other girls in the same class witnessed the incident, one of them recorded a video, the other also jumped in and beat the victim a few more times.

On the morning of April 11, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dien, Vice Principal of Vo Van Kiet Secondary and High School, said that after learning about the incident, the school had discussed it with the student’s parents. The beaten female student was examined for health and no abnormalities were found.
The school decided to suspend the female student who beat her friend for two weeks. The student who filmed and beat her was suspended for one week and three days, respectively. The school warned and disciplined the female student who was beaten. The parents also pledged to cooperate in managing and reminding their children.
Vo Van Kiet Secondary and High School has a campus of over 20,000 m2, about 1,600 students and 81 teachers and staff.
According to current regulations of the education sector, there are three forms of handling students who violate discipline, including: warning, reprimand and temporary suspension from school (maximum one year).
