Detailed schedule for 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi in 2025

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just announced detailed admission schedules for grade 10 public high schools for the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, this year's non-specialized high school entrance exam for grade 10 will begin on June 7 with Literature in the morning and foreign language in the afternoon. On the morning of June 8, candidates will take the Math exam.

On June 6, the Examination Council at the examination sites met to study the regulations for candidates and teachers; announced the exam registration board for candidates to check and report errors to the Examination Council at the examination sites.

June 7-8: Non-specialized subjects will be tested. Math and Literature exams will be in essay format, with a duration of 120 minutes per exam. Foreign language exams will be in objective multiple-choice format, with a duration of 60 minutes for each subject.

According to the plan, by April 18 at the latest, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will announce the enrollment plan for self-financed public high schools and private high schools on the Department's information portal.

On April 18, educational institutions collected application forms for admission to grade 10 high school, collected and checked direct admission application files of students; completed the issuance of student codes and passwords to grade 9 students.

Like previous years, students can register up to three options for the general education system, of which options 1 and 2 must be in the enrollment area, and option 3 is random. Students cannot change their options after registration.

On April 21, educational institutions in the area submitted student registration forms, records and lists of students registering for direct admission to the Department of Education and Training.

On April 26-29, students will review the list of candidates at educational institutions, recheck all personal information, registration wishes and priority points; if there are any errors, please request the school to promptly correct them.

No later than May 15, the Department of Education and Training will announce the number of students applying to each high school at the Departments of Education and Training.

June 9, the Board will grade multiple-choice tests according to instructions. June 11-22, grade essay tests.

July 4-6, exam scores will be announced on mass media.

This school year, Hanoi has about 127,000 junior high school graduates, down nearly 6,000 compared to last year. The total target for public schools is 79,000. Thus, the passing rate is over 62%, a slight increase compared to 60-61% in previous years.
