Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong works in Dien Bien province

Reporting to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and members of the working delegation, Mr. Tran Quoc Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, informed the working delegation about the province's outstanding achievements in socio-economic development; ensuring national defense, security and foreign affairs. In particular, he emphasized the province's efforts in promoting border gate economic development in Muong Nhe district.

Comrade Tran Quoc Cuong also said that in the coming time, Dien Bien province will continue to focus on solving employment problems associated with stabilizing housing for people, creating a sustainable foundation for social security.

The province also focuses on developing tourism associated with agriculture, exploiting the strengths of natural landscapes and cultural identities of ethnic groups; promoting the training of high-quality human resources, while strengthening the potential for building defense works, ensuring solid national defense.

Appreciating the outstanding results achieved by Dien Bien province in the field of socio-economic development associated with ensuring national defense and security, foreign affairs and the work of arranging administrative units and streamlining the apparatus, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong suggested that Dien Bien province focus on implementing a number of key tasks.

That is, the province needs to build a new growth model in the direction of developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector; promoting commodity agriculture associated with the application of science and technology, digital transformation, high technology, and at the same time taking the private economy as the key driving force for development. At the same time, the province needs to arrange and perfect the administrative apparatus in a streamlined, effective and efficient manner, creating a foundation for a fast, sustainable and stable growth model.

Comrade Tran Quang Phuong emphasized that Dien Bien province needs to pay special attention to leadership, direction and effective implementation of national target programs; strive to fully complete education and health targets. In particular, economic development must be associated with the task of ensuring national defense and security and effectively exploiting the economic potential of border gates, creating a driving force for comprehensive development for the locality.

Previously, on March 19, in Muong Nhe district, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong and the delegation offered incense at the Memorial Site of Heroic Martyr Tran Van Tho (Leng Su Sin commune); visited and presented gifts to policy families, village elders, village chiefs, and disadvantaged students in Sin Thau commune; and presented 200 gifts (worth 200 million VND) to policy families in Muong Nhe district.

In Nam Po district, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and the delegation visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers working at Economic-Defense Group 379 (Si Pa Phin commune, Nam Po district).
