Naval Academy - A place for young people to realize their dream of contributing to the Fatherland

The Naval Academy is the training and scientific research center of the Army and the Navy, with the task of training and fostering military officers at university and postgraduate levels. The Naval Academy has been built in the direction of a "Smart School"; constantly developing in terms of organization, staffing, qualifications, scale, technical equipment and weapons, enhancing international integration, to improve the quality of training and fostering officers, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation. The team of lecturers and educational managers of the Academy is growing in both quantity and quality. Currently, 100% of lecturers have university degrees, of which over 87.7% have postgraduate degrees, 20% have PhDs; 01 Professor, 08 Associate Professors, hundreds of lecturers have achieved the title of Excellent Lecturer at the Ministry of National Defense and grassroots levels.

Naval Engineering College students practice with real weapons and technical equipment on board

The Naval Academy is a multi-level, multi-specialty training facility, especially training cadres and officers in naval military science and technology. The focus is on training university-level platoon officers, 5 years in duration, including 6 majors - with 12 majors trained, specifically: (1) Maritime Science; (2) Naval Command and Staff; (3) Control and Automation Engineering Technology; (4) Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Technology; (5) Mechanical and Power Engineering; (6) Electrical Engineering.

Candidates who pass the Naval Academy with good academic results are selected to study abroad in countries such as Russia, India, China, the US, Australia, etc. The learning process is practiced on very modern equipment and simulation systems. Graduates are awarded university degrees (engineers, bachelors), become cadres, officers and are promoted to the rank of second lieutenant, first lieutenant, receive salary immediately after graduation and are assigned to work according to military mission requirements.

In 2025, the Naval Academy was assigned 208 enrollment targets: (North 83; South 125).

Candidates register and take the national high school exam with a combination of subjects to enter the Naval Academy including: (A00) Math, Physics, Chemistry and (A01) Math, Physics, English. Admission scores are considered according to 2 regions: North and South.

Naval Technical College - The cradle of professional military training

The Naval Technical College was established on February 12, 1979. After more than 45 years of construction and development, the School has successfully completed its training mission, providing quality human resources for the Navy and many other units in the entire army (The School has trained more than 10,000 professional technical personnel at intermediate and college levels; 30,000 non-commissioned officers and soldiers at primary technical level, and trained more than 20,000 people... who graduated and worked on ships, stations, factories, enterprises... worthy of being the core force, the "backbone" of building a modern Navy).

Currently, the Naval Technical College is assigned the task of training technical staff at 03 levels: College, intermediate, primary technical. Of which, college training (Full-time: 03 years; Intermediate: 1.5 years) with 14 majors; Intermediate training (Long-term concentrated: 02 years; Short-term concentrated: 01 year; Transfer to intermediate: 1.5 years) with 21 majors; Primary technical training (01 year) with 21 majors.

In 2025, the Naval Technical College was assigned to enroll 545 students.

Cadets of the Naval Academy and Naval Technical College enjoy the regimes and policies of the Party, State, and Army on education and training; are given favorable and equal conditions for studying; receive health care, and enjoy regimes and policies guaranteed according to current regulations.

Students are guaranteed facilities and equipment for studying, training and scientific research. They are given summer vacation, Tet holiday and holidays during the year. They are guaranteed 100% military uniforms, food, monthly allowance and do not have to pay tuition. Students' parents, wives and children are entitled to health insurance for relatives to receive medical examination and treatment according to regulations.
