According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Trieu Son district, due to heavy rain, 76.5 hectares of spring rice were flooded in the district recently. Of these, 51 hectares were completely flooded and 25.5 hectares were flooded at the neck.
People of Hop Ly commune actively stick to their fields after the flood recedes.
Some communes in the district have large flooded rice areas such as: Tho Cuong, Hop Ly, Tho Ngoc, Xuan Tho.
After the water receded, people in Hop Ly commune (Trieu Son) mobilized machinery to harvest the flooded rice area.
Dong Thanh village (Hop Ly commune) suffered the most severe damage with 27 hectares of rice deeply submerged in water. Of these, 15 hectares were completely lost, 12 hectares were 30-70% submerged.
Due to being submerged in water for a long time, many rice fields have sprouted.
Most of the rice fields in Hop Ly commune are in the green stage, some plots are starting to ripen and can be harvested. After the water receded, many households in the commune proactively rented harvesters to harvest early with the motto "green at home is better than ripe in the fields".
