Striving to have 160 more OCOP products in 2025

According to the plan, the province strives to have 160 new OCOP products by 2025, including 3 5-star products, 20 4-star products and 137 3-star products.

These products will be distributed to 27 districts, towns and cities in the province. Quang Xuong district with 12 new OCOP products, Hau Loc district with 11 products; Nghi Son town, Nong Cong district and Trieu Son district, each locality strives to have 10 products. Notably, Nga Son district is the locality with the highest standard OCOP product development plan with 2 5-star products, 2 4-star products and 4 3-star products. Hoang Hoa district is also expected to have 1 5-star product.

To achieve the above goals, the Provincial People's Committee has set out 5 main tasks and solutions including: promoting propaganda work; organizing training and capacity building; enhancing trade promotion; strengthening inspection and supervision of product quality; applying science and technology, digital transformation. Propaganda work will be deployed in a variety of ways through seminars, workshops, forums, building OCOP newsletters and yearbooks on OCOP products for the period 2021-2025. The province also focuses on organizing training courses for managers and production entities, and organizing delegations to study experiences in typical provinces. Regarding trade promotion, the province will promote product promotion through fairs, exhibitions and especially develop e-commerce, supporting entities to participate in large-scale e-commerce platforms.

The Provincial People's Committee has assigned specific responsibilities to departments, branches, sectors and localities, in which the Office of Coordination for New Rural Development plays the leading role, coordinating with relevant units. The funding source for implementation is mobilized from the central budget, local budget and integrated from other sources such as science and technology, industrial and agricultural promotion and capital from enterprises and cooperatives. The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities are assigned to develop their own implementation plans, allocate resources and implement the annual OCOP cycle. Economic organizations participating in the program are responsible for organizing the production of products.
