Many national and provincial highways run through the area, such as: North-South Expressway with a length of 4.3km, 2 national highways with a length of about 36km (QL.47 and QL.47C), 6 provincial roads with a length of about 85km (TL.514, TL.514B, TL.515C, TL.517, TL.519 and TL.520) and the route from Thanh Hoa city center to Tho Xuan Airport with a length of about 26.5km. In the period of 2021-2025, the district attracted 30 investment projects. Currently, there are nearly 740 enterprises operating in the district, creating regular jobs for over 23,000 workers.

Industrial production - construction plays a key role in the district's economic growth with an average annual production value growth rate estimated at 13.54%; production value (at current prices) in 2025 is estimated at 15,840 billion VND, 2.2 times higher than in 2020, ranking 6th out of 26 districts, towns and cities in the province. Particularly, the production value of the industrial sector is estimated at 10,482 billion VND, 2.95 times higher than in 2020, ranking 5th in the province, with an average annual growth rate estimated at 20.16%.

At this stage, in the whole district, there are 9 projects that have completed investment, put into production, increasing the industrial production value of the district, such as: Trieu Son Water Plant; Commercial concrete factory in Nua town; expansion of Adiana shoe factory in Tho Dan commune; S&D garment factory in Dan Luc commune; Export shoe and sandal factory in Dong Tien commune; Tho Ngoc clean water production and supply factory; Decorative LED lights and electronic toys factory in Tho Dan commune; Automobile electric cable processing and installation factory in Tho Tien commune; coordinating with investors to speed up the completion of legal procedures for investment in LED light factory in Thai Hoa commune; starting construction of technical infrastructure of Hop Thang Industrial Cluster to attract secondary investment projects...

Attracting investment in the trade and service sector has seen many improvements. The Am Tien commercial service area and cable car project in the Am Tien tourist complex was approved by the Provincial People's Committee to receive transfers, leases of land use rights, and capital contributions in the form of land use rights. This demonstrates the great efforts and determination of the province, local authorities and enterprises with the highest goal of awakening a Nua - Am Tien mountainous area to develop commensurate with its potential and advantages.

Many investors and enterprises signed investment commitments in Trieu Son district, typically: Thanh Hoa Cable Car Service and Tourism Company Limited committed to investing in 3 projects in the field of trade and tourism services in Trieu Son with a total investment of nearly 900,000,000 USD, expected implementation time from 2025-2030; Fooking Limited Company committed to investing in a project in the field of electronic toys with a scale of about 6.8 hectares, a total investment of about 30,000,000 USD... Currently, the district is submitting to competent authorities for review and adjustment of the planning.

The results in attracting investment have had a strong impact on the socio-economic development of the district. The economy has maintained a fairly high growth rate, ranking among the top in the province for many consecutive years. The total state budget revenue in the 2021-2025 period is estimated at 3,281 billion VND, the average annual revenue growth rate is 36.5%, exceeding the set plan (15%), creating an important resource to implement socio-economic development goals. Mobilizing development investment capital has achieved positive results, the total mobilization of development investment capital in the 2021-2025 period is estimated at 24,267 billion VND, 2.16 times higher than the 2016-2020 period, ranking 8th in the province. The National Target Program on New Rural Development in the 2021-2025 period has been led and directed to be implemented resolutely, received the consensus and response of cadres and people, and achieved high results. In 2021, Trieu Son district reached the NTM finish line, earlier than expected. In 2024, Trieu Son district was recognized as an advanced NTM district...
