The fighting between Israel and Hamas over the past six months has caused fuel shortages and paralyzed hospitals, water systems, food stores and aid operations across the strip.
The fighting in Gaza began when Hamas launched a surprise attack on southern Israel on October 7, killing 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking 253 hostages, according to Israeli statistics.
According to Palestinian health authorities, since October 7, at least 33,175 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's military offensive on Gaza, with 75,886 others injured.
