Since March 2023, two winning contractors have simultaneously started construction on the expansion of Ngo Tat To Street, Ward 8 and Chau Van Liem Street, Ward 7 (Da Lat City). Due to ongoing construction, heavy rains, especially in recent days, have made traffic extremely difficult.

The project to upgrade Ngo Tat To Street, won by TN Company Limited (Da Lat), has almost completed the drainage system. However, there is no path for pedestrians. Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang (resident) said: "After the rains, pedestrians have to wade through mud, many motorbikes have slipped and fallen when crossing the low-lying section of the road under construction."

After the rains, people have difficulty traveling through this low-lying road.

Mr. PVT (living on Ngo Tat To Street, Ward 8, Da Lat) added that raising the drainage ditch but slowly spreading rocks to raise the roadbed made the entrances to the houses dangerous. To ensure safety, households had to take soil and rocks themselves to make paths for motorbikes and cars to enter their houses.

Similarly, Chau Van Liem Street was constructed by V.D Construction - Trade - Service Company Limited (V.D Company). Although the drainage system was almost completed, for more than a month, all the rainwater flowing on the road surface has eroded the road surface, making travel difficult.

The drainage system has been repaired and raised higher than the road surface but has not been put into use yet, so when it rains heavily, all the water will overflow onto Chau Van Liem Street.

Mr. Nguyen Tri Dung (resident) said that during the recent heavy rains, all the rainwater flowed on Chau Van Liem Street like a river and overflowed onto Thanh Mau Street, damaging the road surface. Water also flooded into the houses of residents at the Chau Van Liem - Thanh Mau intersection.

Due to too much water pouring in, the Thanh Mau street surface was also severely damaged.

A representative of V.D Company said that this unit won the bid to repair a 345 m long section of Chau Van Liem Street, and is scheduled to complete the upgrade by June 30, 2023. After receiving feedback from the people, in the past 2 days, this unit has been pouring rocks to raise the road surface.

A representative of TN Company Limited said that the Ngo Tat To Street upgrade project started on March 22, 2023, and will be completed within 18 months. However, to meet the travel needs of the people, the unit will focus on construction personnel, trying to complete the project earlier than planned.
