Strengthen communication
Mr. Truong Thanh Minh, Director of the Tourism Promotion Information Center, said that immediately after Hue city announced the National Tourism Year program - Hue 2025, the local tourism industry deployed a communication plan through websites, social networks, and sent it to travel agencies, hotels, tourism businesses, and tourist attractions.
According to Mr. Do Ngoc Co, Chairman of Hue City Tourism Association, based on information from the Department of Tourism, the business community has connected with partners to build tours and routes, and incorporate activities of the National Tourism Year into the tour program to introduce and sell tours to tourists. This year, the tourism industry of the ancient capital will participate in more activities at tourism fairs. Of which, there are expected to be 2 tourism fairs in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi taking place in April 2025 and September 2025. Hue tourism will also participate in cultural tourism weeks in major cities at both ends of the country in May and September 2025.
One of the special features is that the tourism industry of the Ancient Capital will promote the destination and introduce the programs of the National Tourism Year in many countries and continents around the world. It is expected that in May and September this year, Hue tourism will participate in the European Cultural Tourism Week (2 sessions) in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Poland, and the Czech Republic. In addition, in Asia, Hue tourism will also bring information to international tourism fairs to introduce to businesses and tourism in Korea (June), Indonesia, Malaysia (July).

Mr. Minh shared that at domestic events, the local tourism industry strives to meet and introduce to 400 businesses to convey information about the National Tourism Year to their visitors. For overseas programs, each country, the Hue tourism industry will try to introduce information to about 100 businesses. This is an effective bridge to inform visitors in the most convenient way. In the opposite direction, Hue will also welcome famtrip groups to survey tourism products, tours, and destinations in Hue. It is expected that in March 2025, an Australian famtrip group will come to Hue to survey.
In addition, the local tourism industry will organize and coordinate with the Vietnam National Tourism Administration to welcome a number of famtrip and presstrip delegations for travel businesses and foreign press from key and potential markets such as Japan, Korea, Europe, North America and countries in the ASEAN region... to survey tourism products. The tourism industry of the Ancient Capital will prepare the best conditions and provide full information about the programs and activities of the National Tourism Year for businesses from other countries to grasp and introduce to tourists, in order to soon plan their trips to Hue for experience.
Innovation in communication
Along with traditional media channels and methods, this year, the local tourism industry will innovate its communication methods, focusing on the approach trends of the majority of tourists. In particular, the tourism industry has been creating short films and videos to introduce tourism information and products.
The leader of the Tourism Promotion Information Center said that in the plan, the unit has created a 30-second video for communication on the US CNN channel. In addition, it will promote Hue tourism products to international markets; deploy Hue destination advertising packages on popular national and international television channels (CNN, BBC, DW, NHK, KBS, etc.); actively seek cooperation and support from countries and international organizations in promoting the image of Hue tourism; coordinate with mass media agencies, foreign information agencies, and Vietnamese diplomatic representative agencies abroad to promote and advertise the image of Vietnam tourism in general and Hue in particular abroad.
According to the Department of Tourism, the tourism industry aims to professionalize communication, promotion and create real efficiency. Based on the approach of tourists, Hue tourism will also connect with social media influencers such as bloggers, KOLs, Vlogs, and inspirational figures to communicate and promote destinations. Currently, the Department is also implementing the promotion of information technology application in tourism promotion and ensuring security and order. Develop mobile applications, websites and social networks to provide timely and accurate information to tourists. Use data analysis tools to better understand tourists' behavior and needs, thereby having more effective communication and promotion solutions.
