Ahead of schedule in many categories
According to the leader of Project Management Board 6 (project investor), due to the nature of the Vung Ang - Bung expressway near Ngang Pass, close to the Hoanh Son range, construction will be difficult during the rainy season, so taking advantage of the sunny weather, contractors have mobilized human resources and machinery to focus on simultaneously deploying construction points, making efforts to speed up progress. Difficult points and critical points in terms of progress are also given priority.
National Highway 12C intersection is constructed by Construction Joint Stock Company 368 in the section passing through Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district.
Along the Vung Ang - Bung expressway, there are 33 bridges, of which 28 are on the expressway and 5 are cross-road bridges. Bridges 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are critical items in the section through Ha Tinh.
Bridge No. 1 is nearly 1km long, designed with 2 abutments and 22 pillars spanning a valley with a basin terrain in Ky Hoa commune, Ky Anh town. Of which, the highest pillar is up to 50m. This bridge is undertaken by Hoa Binh 479 Joint Stock Company, currently 8/22 spans have been installed, reaching 70% of the volume.
Bridge No. 2 and Bridge No. 3 go along Kim Son reservoir with a capacity of 17.5 million m3 in Ky Hoa commune, Ky Anh town, constructed by Construction Joint Stock Company 368.
Engineer Nguyen Van Trung (Construction Joint Stock Company 368) said that the contract value of the unit in the Vung Ang - Bung package is 458 billion, up to now the output has been 334 billion, reaching 73% compared to the contract with the investor.
The Kim Son freshwater lake overpass in Ky Hoa commune, Ky Anh town, constructed by Company 368, will have its road surface paved next September.
"Up to now, due to the unobstructed site, the basic items of the unit have been completed. We plan to concrete the bridge decks around September; strive to complete the remaining items such as signs and traffic safety systems in 2024," said Mr. Trung.
At the intersection of National Highway 12C in the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang package, the section passing through Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district, constructed by Construction Joint Stock Company 368, the pavement has been prepared; the contractor is arranging workers and machinery to lay the base layer and cement reinforced concrete (CTB) for the branches of the road leading to and from the intersection...
In the Deo But tunnel project, part of the Vung Ang - Bung package, the Son Hai Group is in charge of construction, and the output progress is also 20 to 30% higher than the signed contract.
The Vung Ang - Bung expressway component project is ahead of schedule in many items.
Engineer Nguyen Van Tung said that the Deo But tunnel's right branch was cleared on Uncle Ho's birthday, May 19. Currently, the left branch tunnel has about 80m that cannot be cleared due to about 2 hectares of protective forest.
"In addition to the tunnel project, we also have 4.5km of main road, which is basically paved with C25 asphalt concrete. It is expected to be completed by the end of this year to complete traffic safety projects," said engineer Tung.
In 2024, vehicles can technically circulate on the main highway.
Undertaking the construction of more than 22km of main route; 15 bridges; 2 interchanges in package 11XL of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi project, according to Vinaconex leaders, up to this point, the unit's output has reached 58% of the contract value, 5% faster than the signed contract.
Vietnam Import Export Joint Stock Company (Vianconex) paved asphalt concrete on the main route.
"We aim to cover about 70% of the entire road with asphalt concrete by the end of 2024," said a Vinaconex leader.
Previously, at the end of June, the National Highway 8A intersection through Thanh Binh Thinh, Duc Tho district opened to traffic. This is the first intersection on the expressway through Ha Tinh to be completed and put into operation.
Workers work at night to proactively progress.
In the race to speed up the progress of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway project, Corporation 319 (Ministry of National Defense) is also taking advantage of the dry season weather to simultaneously construct all the sections.
Mr. Tran Dinh Ngan, Project Executive Director, said: "Our goal is to pave about 5km out of the total 12.11km of the main route by the end of this year. Basically, the contractor will complete the project according to the requirements of the Ministry of Transport in time for April 30, 2025."
It is expected that by the end of 2024, the main expressway section through Ha Tinh can be technically opened to traffic.
At the Ham Nghi – Vung Ang project, Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise undertook the construction of 42km out of the total length of 54.2km of 2 construction packages (11-XL and 12-XL). Up to now, many locations on the route have been paved with asphalt concrete, the construction process is quite favorable when it is mainly excavation, while the amount of filling is small and does not take time to treat weak ground.
According to the leader of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Project Board (under the Thang Long Project Management Board), the weather is favorable, the clean site has been basically handed over, so the contractors are putting all their efforts into construction.
At the project site, there are 53 construction teams with 700 pieces of machinery and equipment and 1,029 officers and engineers on site. Up to now, contractor Tu Lap has reached 80%; contractor 471 has reached 70%, Xuan Truong enterprise has reached 55%... Basically, the contractors have mobilized enough machinery and human resources to try to complete the project on time for April 30, 2025 as required by the Ministry of Transport.
The National Highway 8A intersection, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi section, will open to traffic at the end of June 2024. This is the intersection connecting the Dien Chau - Bai Vot project, which was opened to traffic earlier.
Mr. Nguyen Khac Trung, Executive Director of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang project, informed that with the capacity, equipment, machinery, and human resources of the contractor currently constructing the project, basically by this September, the route will be able to be traveled, except for some bridge items that are still waiting for the construction of the approach road to the bridge and must be accessed via the public road.
Currently, the remaining problems are only concentrated in some 110kV and 220kV power lines in Thach Ha and Cam Xuyen districts that have not been relocated. If they are resolved in time for the dry season, there is absolutely no need to worry about the project's progress.
"Recently, to resolve the remaining power line system, the board has assigned staff and board leaders to urge construction units to relocate the power grid system. In the context of highway construction, we provide maximum support to units in terms of machinery, human resources, and materials to promptly relocate the power lines," said Mr. Trung.
