To date, the province has 261 OCOP products, of which 48 products have achieved 4 stars and 213 products have achieved 3 stars. The program has attracted 178 production establishments to participate, including 44 enterprises, 73 cooperatives and 61 business households, exceeding 74% of the target set for 2025. OCOP products have reached many consumption channels and are highly appreciated by the market. The value of OCOP products has increased by 20%, sales revenue has increased by 20 - 30% compared to before participating in the program.

According to Mr. Do Quy Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the quality of OCOP products is the most important factor, not the title. Therefore, the evaluation and classification of products must ensure substance, avoiding chasing after achievements. The work of inspection, guidance and strict supervision of quality to ensure the reputation of OCOP products in the market. The OCOP program has had positive impacts on rural economic development. Through the implementation of the program, it has contributed to the transformation from small-scale agricultural production to production in the direction of value chain linkage, according to standards, regulations, traceability and market demand. Arousing the potential of land, products, comparative advantages, especially regional cultural values, linking agricultural development with services and tourism.

From the implementation of the OCOP program, many localities have planned areas of specialty materials, developed rural industries, especially preserved and developed many traditional craft villages. Typical examples include the 4-star OCOP products of Dinh Manh fish cake establishment, Dong La commune (Dong Hung) including fish cake, peanut candy, sesame candy, brown rice candy, and sesame sausage candy, which have won the trust of consumers, especially during holidays and Tet.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Manh, the owner of the facility, shared: OCOP is an integrated certification. Star-certified products must ensure many quality standards of ministries, branches and localities. Thanks to the program, our brand is increasingly known to consumers. Since achieving 4-star OCOP in 2022, output has grown by over 20% each year. Fish cake, peanut candy, and sesame candy are currently the 3 best-selling products, growing by over 30%. By improving product quality and meeting the standards of the OCOP program, the facility has not only built a strong brand but also created stable jobs for 50 local workers with a stable income of 8 - 10 million VND/person/month.

4-star OCOP products of Dinh Manh fish cake facility are popular with consumers.

The crispy dried young sticky corn product of Savi Quynh Phu Food Technology and Agricultural Products Processing Company Limited not only achieved 3-star OCOP but is also highly appreciated by consumers for its quality and design.

Mr. Vu Cong Trung, Director of the Company said: Previously, most people did not clearly understand the OCOP program as well as the product evaluation standards. But now, their awareness has changed, they trust OCOP products more, leading to a significant increase in consumption output. Besides quality, consumers are also interested in the story behind each product. This is the motivation for us to continue to provide technical support and purchase products for farmers in Quynh Phu district to grow young sticky corn that meets VietGAP standards.

In addition to the achieved results, the 6 years of implementing the OCOP program also encountered difficulties and limitations such as: products are mainly in the form of preliminary processing, there are few deeply processed products. Although trade promotion activities have been implemented, they are still not synchronous, and a system of promotion and trade promotion that is connected and specialized in OCOP products has not been formed. The management and supervision of recognized products still faces many difficulties. In the coming time, the OCOP program will focus on developing products according to the value chain based on the strengths and advantages of local raw materials, culture, with specialties, traditional products, processed products, and deeply processed products. Organize training and coaching, focusing on skills in production organization, management, product innovation, quality management, food safety, skills in packaging design, labeling and product design, intellectual property, traceability according to the value chain and market development. Strengthening the supervision and inspection of products after they have been evaluated and classified, especially in terms of quality and food safety. Reviewing, inspecting, evaluating and classifying products after the recognition period has expired to raise awareness and responsibility of entities towards consumers. Promoting trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand for OCOP products through forums, exhibitions, honoring events...
