After many years of implementation, the OCOP program has had a positive and significant impact on rural economic development, transforming from small-scale agricultural production to value chain linkage, according to standards, regulations, traceability and market demand. Arousing the potential of land, products, comparative advantages, especially regional cultural values to form integrated "multi-value" OCOP products, linking agricultural development with services and tourism; enhancing product value, promoting the role of cooperatives and small and medium enterprises.

As of February 2025, the whole province had 182 products participating in the assessment, classification and recognition of 3 stars or more (5 5-star products, 14 4-star products, 163 3-star products) of 125 economic entities (11 cooperatives, 2 cooperative groups, 26 enterprises, 86 production establishments, business households). The products have made progress in quality, diversified designs, packaging, ensuring conditions and regulations on stamps, labels and traceability of product origin... Previously, local products were almost only famous in a narrow scope, consumed in the traditional way, at the place of production at a modest level. Currently, most products (after being recognized as 3-star OCOP or more) are available in supermarkets, shopping centers, markets inside and outside the province, known to consumers, gradually affirming their position.

At the same time, 100% of OCOP products participate in registering information, participating in e-commerce sales channels on online shopping applications; more than 150 OCOP products and agricultural products are posted on the websites http://sanphamangiang.com, http://ketnoiocop.vn for promotion and introduction. Expanding multiple consumption channels, both online and direct, supermarkets, retail stores for local OCOP products... helps consumers have more choices and flexibility in purchasing.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu (Chau Doc City) shared: “I am very happy that my province has many OCOP products from dried to fresh foods. The products all have traceable origins, geographical indications, clear expiry dates, and reasonable prices. Therefore, my family always looks to buy OCOP products as gifts for relatives and friends on holidays and Tet, contributing to promoting and introducing the province's typical products”. Mr. Le Van Ngoan (Long Xuyen City) said: “The province's OCOP products are all of good quality, diverse in types, and attractive in designs. I often choose to buy them for use, without spending too much time researching the origin of the goods, without worrying about fake, counterfeit, or poor quality goods”.

For about 2 years now, Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Bich (Chau Doc City) has switched to using products with OCOP labels. “They are delicious, retain traditional flavors, are packaged, and have certification from the authorities. Thanks to that, I feel more secure than products without packaging or labels in the market. The price of OCOP products is a bit more expensive, which also makes many rural people hesitate when choosing. However, food safety is paramount, so always choose OCOP products to protect the health of your family,” Ms. Bich shared.

With its existing potentials and strengths, along with the results achieved in the past time, the OCOP program is expected to continue promoting investment in developing agricultural production associated with processing, connecting product consumption markets according to the value chain, increasing people's income, changing the face of agriculture and rural areas, and being a solid foundation for building new rural areas.
