Sharing with us, Ms. Trieu Thi Chuyen - Dao ethnic, Head of the area and Head of the Women's Association expressed the gratitude of the people in Da Can area, Huong Can commune, Thanh Son district to the Party and State for their attention and creating the best conditions for the people to have favorable conditions to develop the economy, participate in social activities, and strive to rise up.
Ms. Trieu Thi Chuyen propagates and mobilizes people in the area to carry out forest protection and management work.
Ms. Trieu Thi Chuyen is a Dao ethnic, born and raised in Da Can area. With the attention of the Party Committee of Huong Can commune, the help and guidance of the Da Can area Party cell, in 2016, Ms. Chuyen was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam. As the Head of the residential area and the Head of the Women's Union, Ms. Chuyen always wondered what to do to get people to agree to focus on economic development so that everyone could see the effectiveness and follow along. Thinking like that, but doing it is very difficult.
With the support of her family, Ms. Chuyen was determined to do it, starting with planting acacia trees on the family's 7-hectare forest hill area, investing in fertilizer and taking good care of the trees so that they could grow and develop well. After that, Ms. Chuyen's family continued to invest in raising cattle, pigs and chickens. The average income from her family's comprehensive economic model has now reached about 200 million VND/year. The family also took advantage of selling a beverage shop to earn more income, and also to facilitate the collection of information and propaganda to mobilize people in the area.
Da Can area currently has 24 households, all of which are ethnic minorities, including 21 Dao households and 3 Muong households. People in the area mainly work in agriculture and forestry. In recent years, with the attention of the Party and authorities at all levels, people in Da Can area have had access to and benefited from support policies for ethnic minorities, and people's lives have changed positively. The number of poor and near-poor households has decreased every year. Backward customs have disappeared; the beauty of cultural identity and customs of ethnic minorities have been preserved and promoted. For 11 consecutive years, no one in Da Can residential area has had a third or more child.
The security, political situation, and social order and safety in the area are stable; ethnic minorities have absolute confidence in the leadership of the Party, promote the spirit of solidarity and unity, strive to overcome difficulties to work and produce, and participate in activities launched by political organizations.
In addition to doing social work, Ms. Chuyen is also active in developing the family economy with a beverage shop model serving people in the area.
Ms. Trieu Thi Chuyen shared: “By understanding the aspirations of the people in Da Can area, I hope that the Party committees and authorities at all levels will continue to pay attention to promulgating and implementing support policies so that our ethnic minorities have the conditions to strive to rise up. In particular, pay attention to organizing production, orienting production and supporting education and training so that ethnic minority children can study and have stable jobs, escape poverty, and strive to become rich legitimately”.
