According to information from Dak Lak Provincial Police, as of June 17, 62 subjects have been arrested.
Most of these subjects reside in Krong Buk district. Some subjects are from other areas in the province and some are from outside the province.
Currently, Dak Lak Provincial Police are coordinating with relevant agencies to investigate, take statements, and clarify the roles of each subject and related people.
Police also seized a quantity of weapons including: 4 military guns, 4 homemade guns, nearly 200 bullets, 2 grenades, knives, various homemade weapons and many other documents and evidence.
As reported, in the early morning of June 11, a group of people armed with guns, knives and various weapons suddenly attacked the headquarters of the People's Committees of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes of Cu Kuin district. The consequences of this armed attack were the deaths of 4 commune police officers, 2 commune officers and 3 civilians, and 2 commune police officers were also injured.
The Ministry of Public Security informed that through taking statements, the group of subjects admitted that they "received instructions that if they encountered cadres and commune police, they would kill them, rob them of their property, guns and ammunition."
The Ministry of Public Security assessed the above incident as a serious, organized, reckless, barbaric, and inhumane act of causing insecurity and disorder.
According to records, the situation in the two communes where the incident occurred and the entire Dak Lak province has returned to normal as before June 11. The People's Committees of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes are currently repairing the damage to soon return to work and serve the local people.
Lieutenant General To An Xo - spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security said, "The police force is conducting investigation and handling quickly, in accordance with regulations; synchronously deploying measures to eliminate the risk of similar incidents, taking advantage of the incident to incite insecurity and disorder; directing and reviewing all plans to ensure absolute security in key areas, targets and fields; readying forces and means to handle complicated situations that arise".
