(NLDO) - The police have had initial investigation results into the case of a female doctor being brutally beaten by three men at the commune health station.
On the afternoon of March 12, Gia Lai Provincial Police reported the initial investigation results of the case of "Female nurse surrounded and beaten by 3 men" as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper .
Accordingly, from November 2024, Mr. Nguyen Le (born in 1975), Nguyen Van Le (born in 1984, Le's younger brother) and Nguyen Minh Hung (born in 2006, Mr. Le's son; all residing in Tan Tu village, Tan An commune, Dak Po district, Gia Lai province) registered temporary residence at the Kon Thup Commune Cultural House (Mang Yang district, Gia Lai province) to work as construction workers.
The assault of a female doctor was recorded by the camera of Kon Thup Commune Health Station.
At around 6:00 p.m. on February 11, Mr. Le fell down the stairs while drunk and was taken to Kon Thup Commune Health Station by Mr. Nguyen Van Le and Nguyen Minh Hung for first aid.
At the medical station, Mr. Le received first aid from Mr. Nguyen Hoang Quan, Head of Kon Thup Commune Medical Station, and Ms. Luong Thi Thuy Tuyet, an employee of the Medical Station, but the wound was not stitched.
Mr. Nguyen Van Le offered to stitch up Mr. Nguyen Le's wound, but Ms. Tuyet refused, saying "if you want stitching, go to Mang Yang district to get stitching", so the two sides had a conflict and a fight.
Ms. Tuyet used her sandals to hit these three people, while Mr. Le and Mr. Le hit Ms. Tuyet many times on the head, face, and chest. After that, all three people in Mr. Le's family went to the Kon Thup Commune Cultural House.
Ms. Tuyet suffered head and facial injuries and chest trauma and was treated at Gia Lai General Hospital. Afterwards, Ms. Tuyet continued to be treated at Military Hospital 211 until March 7.
Ms. Luong Thi Thuy Tuyet is being treated at the hospital.
On March 3, a 16-second clip recording the scene of Ms. Luong Thi Thuy Tuyet being surrounded and beaten by 3 men right at the headquarters of Kon Thup Commune Health Station attracted public attention. According to the clip, Ms. Tuyet bent down to get her sandals to hit the group of 3 men, but before she could, the group of 3 men beat her from the clinic to the door of the health station.
Speaking to reporters, Ms. Tuyet said that during the first aid, the patient did not cooperate and continuously cursed the doctor. When Ms. Tuyet said "why do doctors save people but curse them like cats and dogs", she was immediately surrounded and beaten by a group of 3 men.
On March 5, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee issued a document assigning the Provincial Police to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Health, relevant agencies, units and localities to inspect, clarify and strictly handle the contents reflected on the incident according to their authority.
One person was beaten and suffered a traumatic brain injury, the female doctor's husband broke his arm.
Ms. Luong Thi Thuy Tuyet recounted the incident of being beaten to her husband, Mr. Cao Ly Vinh Quy (born in 1972, residing in Chuk village, Kon Thup commune). Afterwards, Mr. Quy went to the Kon Thup Commune Cultural House to meet Mr. Le's group, and the two sides had a conflict and a fight. Mr. Quy used a hammer to hit Mr. Le and Mr. Le in the head and shoulders. Meanwhile, Mr. Le used a wooden stick to hit Quy's hand and head.
The fight left Mr. Le with a traumatic brain injury and was treated at Dak Lak General Hospital. Mr. Le suffered head and shoulder injuries and was treated at Gia Lai General Hospital. Mr. Quy broke his left arm and was treated at Gia Lai General Hospital.
