Many websites have edited Hieu PC's shares and then combined them with the current scandal of donating money to charity.

Hieu PC warns about false information about "showing teeth"

Facebook user Ngo Minh Hieu (aka Hieu PC) posted an article on the evening of March 1 warning about the problem of spreading false and edited information.

"Warning: Untrue news about "showing teeth to know it's a scam via AI deepfake video calls" from social media news sites is spreading," Hieu PC wrote.

Specifically, Hieu PC said he continuously received information about a number of posts and information impersonating him, spreading information about his speech previously posted on Tuoi Tre Online .

Instead of posting the messages that Hieu PC shared, such as asking the other party to... show their teeth to detect a scam call, the information was now cut, edited, and spread all over the internet.

"They post inaccurate information and edit information. Not to mention, they also use their own image to combine with a controversial story of a TikToker," the cybersecurity expert wrote.

Hieu PC: Must verify, self-verify information

Explaining further, Hieu PC said that his article on Tuoi Tre Online has a "trick" of asking the other person to show their teeth to immediately know if the deepfake call is a scam. Along with the requests to turn left and right, standing up and showing teeth is the simplest way to identify scams.

The reason is that the algorithms of current deepfake artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms during real-time calls will not be able to handle if the caller turns left, turns right, or stands up. A particular weakness is the teeth. These AI algorithms have not been able to reproduce the teeth of the person being impersonated.

"On social networks, news sites take advantage of their images, put them into unrelated stories, and then post them just to get views and likes. Each paragraph "Show your teeth to know it's a scam through AI deepfake video calls" is lacking in information and incomplete, making readers not fully understand the incident and most afraid is that it can lead to misunderstandings," Ngo Minh Hieu wrote on Facebook.

He wrote: "I would like to provide accurate, complete and correct information as in the article shared with Tuoi Tre newspaper (in the screenshot)".

From the story of which he himself was a "victim", Hieu PC believes that nowadays, when watching online news, people always have to verify all information. From there, to avoid information that lacks truth, half-truth, fake news, clickbait news or unverified news.
