On the afternoon of March 1, Ship 09 of Brigade 171, Naval Region 2 docked at Ba Ria - Vung Tau, ending a voyage of nearly 3,000 nautical miles to participate in the 5th Komodo multilateral naval exercise in Indonesia.

Welcoming the delegation and ship 09 was Rear Admiral Le Ba Quan, Commander of Naval Region 2.
According to information from Naval Region 2, the working group and ship 09 went to carry out the Komodo multilateral naval exercise in Indonesia from February 8, and ended the journey after 22 days at sea and participating in exercise activities.
Ship 09 is part of the tactical group 5 with naval ships from Malaysia and host Indonesia.
The sea exercise phase involved 15 participating countries, 25 ships and 20 aircraft with activities including: checking communications; building and moving in formation; signal flag information; enforcing law at sea; mobilizing formations to take photos from above; search and rescue with a hypothetical situation of a cruise ship on fire and passengers drifting at sea...
Ship 09 and the working delegation of the Vietnam Navy during the exercise strictly followed regulations in defense diplomacy, ensuring absolute safety of people and technical equipment, which were highly appreciated by the host country and other navies.
During the voyage, through sea areas with different weather and wind conditions, the working group and crew of ship 09 united, overcame difficulties, organized operations according to plan, completed all tasks well, and achieved the set goals and requirements.
In addition, the Vietnam Navy also participates in other community activities such as beach cleaning, mangrove planting, sea turtle release, sports activities, etc.
The Vietnam Navy's sending of a working delegation and ship 09 to participate in the Komodo exercise as well as the success of the 5th Komodo exercise have contributed to consolidating and enhancing the friendly and cooperative relationship between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Indonesian Navy and the countries participating in the exercise; promoting mutual understanding and trust, affirming the ability to coordinate and cooperate, and being ready to respond to common challenges; supporting and promoting initiatives for humanitarian purposes, maritime security, peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
