Politburo member and President Vo Van Thuong attended and presented the Party Badge to comrade Nguyen Van Nen.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Vo Van Thuong congratulated comrade Nguyen Van Nen on being awarded the 45-year Party membership badge, a noble award of the Party, recognizing his dedication and great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
According to comrade Vo Van Thuong, during 45 years in the Party, regardless of the circumstances or position, in war or peacetime, comrade Nguyen Van Nen always maintained the spirit of a communist, was absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the people; steadfast in Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, the goal of national independence and socialism; constantly studied, cultivated, trained, and promoted the vanguard and exemplary character.
Since becoming a senior official of the Party, comrade Nguyen Van Nen, together with the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, has led the entire Party, people, and army to overcome difficulties and challenges, gain many important achievements, and build an increasingly clean and strong Party.

President Vo Van Thuong assessed that when taking on the responsibility of leading the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee in a difficult time, having to focus on resolving complicated and long-standing backlogs and handling emerging issues, while responding to the fierce and arduous COVID-19 pandemic and restoring the city's socio-economic development after the pandemic, comrade Nguyen Van Nen, together with the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, united and made efforts to find solutions to promote economic growth, directed the removal of bottlenecks and backlogs, and accelerated the construction progress of important infrastructure projects;
Resolutely direct administrative reform and digital transformation; strengthen cooperation with localities in the country and many cities around the world to expand development space; always pay attention to social security, social protection, sustainable poverty reduction, care for policy families, people with meritorious services, especially consolidating the health system from city to ward and commune; persevere in the goal and task of building and rectifying the Party and a clean and strong political system; fight, prevent and repel degradation in political ideology, lifestyle ethics, "self-evolution", "self-transformation" within the Party; effectively carry out the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity; always set an example for Party members and officials in kindness, thrift, integrity, impartiality and selflessness.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen expressed his gratitude to the Party, Uncle Ho and the previous generation for teaching and guiding him, as well as to the generations of leaders who trusted and gave him the opportunity to serve the Fatherland and the people through each specific task; sincerely thanked teachers, friends, comrades and compatriots for always encouraging and sharing, especially the Party Committee and people of Ho Chi Minh City for wholeheartedly helping and supporting him to overcome the recent great challenges.

He has held many positions from the grassroots level; held many important positions of the Party and State, such as: Head of Go Dau District Police, Tay Ninh Province; Secretary of Go Dau District Party Committee; Head of Tay Ninh Provincial Government Organization Committee; Head of Provincial Party Committee Organization Committee; Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee; Secretary of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee; Deputy Head of the Central Highlands Steering Committee; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Minister, Head of the Government Office; Chief of the Central Party Office; Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
