On the occasion of the Vietnamese Doctors' Day, February 27, on the morning of February 25, President Vo Van Thuong visited and congratulated doctors and medical staff of Thanh Phong Commune Health Station and Thanh Liem District Health Center, Ha Nam province.
Thanh Liem District Medical Center has a multi-functional mission, performing preventive medicine, medical examination and treatment, and population work. The Center has 200 officers, doctors, medical staff, 100 hospital beds, equipped with modern technical machinery, the latest science and technology has been put into service to protect and care for people's health and provide professional support to the commune level. In 2023, the Center will receive funding from the program to recover and develop the economy and society after the COVID-19 pandemic with an amount of nearly 40 billion VND to invest in facilities and equipment for medical examination and treatment.
In recent times, Thanh Liem District Medical Center has performed well in medical examination and treatment, actively preventing and fighting epidemics such as COVID-19, hand, foot and mouth disease, and dengue fever. The Center has also promoted digitalization in medical examination and treatment, in which 18/18 medical facilities have ID card readers to replace health insurance cards; deployed an automatic patient reception system; and implemented a cashless payment model.
At Thanh Liem District Medical Center, the President visited the automatic patient reception model, a model that brings many benefits to patients, especially saving time for both doctors and patients.

Sending congratulations on Vietnamese Doctors' Day, February 27, to doctors, medical staff at Thanh Liem District Medical Center, President Vo Van Thuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the team of doctors, medical staff of the district for their many achievements in taking care of people's health. Medical staff are well-trained, passionate about their profession, and highly responsible for their work; equipment and facilities meet the needs of medical examination and treatment.
The President also highly appreciated the implementation of national target programs on grassroots health care, vaccination, primary health care, adolescent health counseling, screening and care for patients with chronic diseases from the commune health station level up. In particular, during the COVID-19 period, the Center, together with the health system of the entire Ha Nam province, actively and effectively contributed to the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic in the locality.
Visiting people coming to the Center for medical examination and treatment, the President was pleased to see that people appreciated the affection and sense of responsibility of doctors and medical staff here.
Emphasizing that grassroots health care plays an important role in our country's health system, with more than 11,400 commune, ward and town health stations, the President said that this is the health care network closest to the people, protecting and taking care of people's health. "Grassroots health care is a very important frontline. If the frontline does well, it will limit many types of diseases, reduce the rate of seriously ill people, and contribute to reducing the burden on district, provincial and central health care. And the most important thing is to reduce costs for people in examining and treating diseases, especially chronic diseases" - said the President.
The President believes that people with chronic diseases who receive treatment at the grassroots level will feel better psychologically because they are closer to home. Therefore, it is necessary to see the position and importance of grassroots health care. Therefore, the Secretariat issued Directive No. 25-CT/TW dated October 25, 2023 on continuing to consolidate, improve and enhance the quality of grassroots health care activities in the new situation. The President requested district and provincial leaders and units in the health sector to thoroughly grasp and best implement the Directive of the Secretariat.
Affirming that medicine is a noble profession, the greatest mission is to cure and save people, bringing joy and happiness to each person, to the family, to society, according to the President, good grassroots health care contributes to building a sustainable future for the country.
Sharing the difficulties and pressures of the medical profession, the President encouraged doctors, nurses, and medical staff to make efforts in many aspects, especially in professional work, to continuously study to improve their qualifications, always maintain a high sense of responsibility, sympathy, and sharing to bring warmth to patients and their families. "A word from a doctor, nurse, or caregiver has a great motivating effect on patients and their families," said the President.
The President requested the Party committees, authorities and relevant agencies of Ha Nam province and Thanh Liem district to continue to pay attention to investing more in grassroots healthcare, focusing on developing human resources, thereby improving the quality of medical examination and treatment at the grassroots level; continue to invest in facilities and medical equipment, build smart, friendly, green, clean and beautiful hospitals. Doctors and medical staff continue to research and find ways to treat new diseases, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Appreciating the District Health Center for its digitalization and digital transformation, the President requested the Center to continue applying it to further facilitate medical examination and treatment. The President also requested the District Health Center to promote communication on health and disease prevention to provide more effective health care for the people; and to communicate so that patients can feel secure in receiving treatment at the grassroots level.
Recalling Uncle Ho's advice that doctors are like mothers, the President hoped that doctors and medical staff would continue to follow his teachings, perform their professional duties well, care for and protect people's health, and contribute to the sustainable development of Ha Nam province and the country in the coming time.
Earlier this morning, President Vo Van Thuong visited and congratulated the doctors of Thanh Phong Commune Health Station, Thanh Liem District, and listened to reports on the results in implementing grassroots health tasks.
