The signing of the above decision took place today (June 12). Among the 6 martyrs who died, 4 were police officers: Major Hoang Trung, an officer of Ea Ktur Commune Police; Captain Nguyen Dang Nhan, an officer of Ea Ktur Commune Police; Major Tran Quoc Thang, an officer of Ea Tieu Commune Police; Captain Ha Tuan Anh, an officer of Ea Tieu Commune Police.
The two martyrs from Dak Lak province include: Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Tieu commune and Mr. Nguyen Van Kien, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ea Ktur commune.
In relation to this incident, so far the authorities have arrested 27 subjects and seized a number of military weapons.
Earlier, in the early morning of June 11, in Cu Kuin district, a group of people used guns to attack the headquarters of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes, killing and injuring a number of commune police officers, commune officials and residents...
Immediately after the incident, the Ministry of Public Security directed Dak Lak Provincial Police and professional units to deploy to arrest the above mentioned group of subjects.
On the afternoon of June 11, General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, signed a decision to posthumously promote the ranks of four commune police officers and soldiers who died while on duty in Cu Kuin district.
At the same time, Minister To Lam, Chairman of the Management Board of the People's Police Comradeship Fund, also signed a decision to support 100 million VND/family for the families of four officers and soldiers of Cu Kuin District Police who sacrificed their lives; support 50 million VND/person for two officers and soldiers of Cu Kuin District Police who were injured while performing their duties.
