The reason why artist Bao Quoc had the opportunity to return to Soc Trang was because the Gia Bao artist group, his grandson, coordinated with the Soc Trang Province Association to organize the Drama program in the homeland , performing the entire play Happy House .

Happy House (directed by Gia Bao) is made from the original script by author Hoang Thanh Du.

To suit the art viewing habits of people in the West, the play was made shorter, about 2 hours.

Artist Bao Quoc plays the role of a father with many worries, because his children pretend to be filial but in fact secretly hide their own schemes.

In addition to Bao Quoc, the play also features young artists such as Bao Tri, Gia Bao, Minh Du, Thuan Nguyen, Pham Yen, Huynh Bao Ngoc, Tat Dieu Hang... Besides performing plays, the program also awards scholarships to poor but studious children, visits disabled children...

Bao Quoc said goodbye to the audience 2, 3 times but they still didn't leave.

Sharing after the performance on the evening of March 21 in Nga Nam town (Soc Trang), artist Bao Quoc said he was so happy with the love of the audience.

Before that, he was quite worried because the Western audience mainly watched music and opera, so if he brought the play back to perform as a full-length play, he didn't know how the audience would receive it.

Furthermore, the first night the troupe performed outdoors, in an empty lot. With a play that carries so many emotions like Happy House , Bao Quoc feared that the space would dilute the play, making it even harder for the audience to approach.

However, after finishing the first scene, seeing the audience silent and attentively listening to every line, he felt like a burden had been lifted.

"From then on, I felt like I had more strength, I acted very well and completely in my character. After each good performance, the audience applauded enthusiastically, making the artist emotional and performing even better" - Bao Quoc happily said.

After the show, Bao Quoc said goodbye 2 or 3 times, but the audience still refused to leave. They surrounded him, held his hand, asked for pictures, and said that Bao Quoc and the artists had made them laugh until their mouths were sore, and they wanted to cry… down the river!

"Not only the audience but also the local leaders are very enthusiastic. The people of the West are kind and friendly, so we feel very warm. It has been decades since we last performed in Soc Trang, the memories of the past keep coming back, making me so happy and my heart is filled with tears..." - artist Bao Quoc expressed emotionally.
