The information that the President of the European Commission (EC) is about to visit Vietnam was announced by Mr. Bruno Jaspaert, who was recently re-elected as Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham).
Mr. Jaspaert said that this week, the EuroCham business delegation will travel to Brussels (Belgium). He will participate in high-level meetings with EC leaders, laying the foundation for the upcoming visit of Ms. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the EC, as well as a number of European Commissioners to Vietnam.
In addition, the EuroCham White Book launch ceremony (taking place on April 11 in Hanoi) is expected to be attended by EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič.
On March 20, 2025, EuroCham held its annual congress in Hanoi, electing 17 members for the 2025 term.
Mr. Bruno Jaspaert, General Director of Deep C Industrial Park Vietnam, was re-elected as Chairman of EuroCham.
Along with President Bruno Jaspaert, three vice presidents were elected, including Mr. Jean-Jacques Bouflet (French Chamber of Commerce and Industry - CCIFV), Mr. Nguyen Hai Minh (Forvis Mazars, CEEC) and Mr. Erick Contreras (BASF, German Business Association - GBA).
Ms. Simonetta Di Domenico, General Director of Leonardo in Vietnam, takes on the role of General Secretary.
In his speech at the congress, EU Ambassador to Vietnam Julien Guerrier emphasized the significance of the 35-year diplomatic relationship between the EU and Vietnam, along with the 5-year milestone of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
He appreciated EuroCham's role in providing in-depth analysis of the business environment, helping to reflect business concerns.
“The close cooperation between the EU delegation and EuroCham opens up new opportunities for growth and investment,” said Mr. Guerrier.
Established in 1998, EuroCham is the voice of the European business community in Vietnam, with over 1,400 member companies.
The association has offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; it operates as an "association of associations", comprising nine national business associations.
