Honoring the beauty and value of Vietnamese

Chairing the meeting, Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Manh Dong said, "The launching ceremony of the Vietnamese Language Honor Day and the Contest to Find Vietnamese Language Ambassadors Abroad in 2025" was held on March 29 in Hanoi in the form of direct online connection to the bridge points of representative agencies around the world and the Vietnamese community abroad.

The launching ceremony aims to implement the Project "Vietnamese Language Honor Day in the Vietnamese Community Abroad in the period of 2023-2030" and the Plan for Vietnamese Language Honor Day in the Vietnamese Community Abroad in 2025; continue to widely propagate, launch and organize activities in response to Vietnamese Language Honor Day in the community, raise awareness of preserving the national language, honoring the beauty and value of Vietnamese in the Vietnamese community abroad.

Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Manh Dong chaired the meeting.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee will inform about the Plan to implement the Vietnamese Language Honor Day in the Vietnamese community abroad this year; launch the Vietnamese Language Honor Day 2025 and the Contest to Find Vietnamese Language Ambassadors Abroad 2025; and at the same time announce a number of activities in response to the Vietnamese Language Honor Day 2025.

Return to the roots, pay tribute to ancestors

Regarding the program of the Overseas Vietnamese Delegation attending the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong said that the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (10th of the 3rd lunar month) is one of Vietnam's national holidays, demonstrating the tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking" of our nation.

Organizing the Overseas Vietnamese Delegation to attend the Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony 2025 not only demonstrates the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking water", but also contributes to implementing the policies set forth by the Party and State for the overseas Vietnamese community in the new situation.

This is also an activity to strengthen the connection between overseas Vietnamese and their homeland, promote the tradition of turning to their roots and showing gratitude to their ancestors; thereby, contributing to preserving and promoting good cultural values ​​in the Vietnamese community around the world, strengthening and consolidating the great national unity bloc.

The program is expected to take place on April 3-4 (ie March 6-7 of the lunar calendar, instead of being held on one day like previous years), including main activities such as: Offering incense, reporting achievements at Hung Temple, meeting with leaders of Phu Tho Province; visiting and working with the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang Province, visiting the Tan Trao historical site, giving charity gifts. And especially in Tuyen Quang, the Overseas Vietnamese delegation will have a meeting with families of overseas Vietnamese returning home living here.

Special train named "Great Unity Train"

According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong, 2025 is the year to celebrate many major national holidays such as: 50 years of national reunification, 80 years of National Day, 95 years of the founding of the Party... With that meaning, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese continues to coordinate with the Navy and relevant agencies to organize a special train, "The Great Solidarity Train" to bring overseas Vietnamese to visit and encourage the soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district and DKI Platform in April 2025.

The main activities in this activity are expected to include: Visiting and presenting gifts to soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district; attending the memorial service for heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; organizing art exchange programs with officers, soldiers and people living and working in Truong Sa; then attending the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) in Ho Chi Minh City.

It is expected that about 100 overseas Vietnamese, representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, representatives of compatriots of various ethnic and religious backgrounds, dignitaries at home and overseas Vietnamese will attend the "Great Solidarity Train" at the end of April 2025.

Looking back at the glorious past, strengthening national unity

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to organize a number of activities for overseas Vietnamese.

Accordingly, the activities organized for overseas Vietnamese on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day have great significance and important purposes, demonstrating the honor of values ​​and arousing the national spirit, creating opportunities for overseas Vietnamese to look back at the nation's heroic past, pay tribute to those who sacrificed for the nation's freedom and independence, enhance awareness of protecting sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity; at the same time, consolidate the great national unity bloc, tighten the relationship between overseas Vietnamese and their homeland, affirming that, wherever they are, all Vietnamese people share the same blood, history and culture.

The activities also meet the wishes of a large number of overseas Vietnamese who want to participate in important events and national holidays; express gratitude and respect for the indispensable role and contribution of overseas Vietnamese in the cause of resistance, national defense, national unification and current socio-economic development; create conditions for people to witness the development of the country with their own eyes, thereby creating a positive spread in the community, creating a new step in the work of closely connecting the overseas Vietnamese community with the cause of national construction and development.

Along with that is to encourage the movement to learn about the glorious history of the nation in the overseas Vietnamese community; affirm peace and national unity; create conditions for overseas Vietnamese to become a bridge of friendship between Vietnam and the countries in the world where they live. These activities not only have historical value but also contribute to building a sustainable future for the Vietnamese community both at home and abroad.

At the official celebration on April 30, overseas Vietnamese delegates will participate in: Parade group (120 people); Group standing in the stands to witness the activities (expected 200 people).

Before the main event, there are expected to be a number of activities such as visiting and offering incense at Ben Duoc - Cu Chi Memorial Temple, Cu Chi Tunnels Relic Site; visiting some families of meritorious people; exchange activities, expressing gratitude to typical overseas Vietnamese...
